nyjunc, you shouldn't be a Jets fan...You will never be happy. Even if we go to the Super Bowl and win you will find a way to spin that Mark Sanchez could have won 3 super bowls as our QB instead with the talent we had
The Knicks lucked out because of Phil's connection to the team. There's no former Jets legend out there who then made a career as a coach/GM we could bring in. I always thought Dolan was slightly worse than Woody....but Woody's got that locked up now with the Knicks kicking out CAA and hiring Phil.
I don't think they have to be a Jet legend, the deal just has to be enticing enough. Full personnel / front office control would be a great start. Millions of cap space, high draft pick.
guys haven't had a chance to develop yet. you are a typical fan that needs the next scapegoat. you have no clue what Terry Bradway does, who he has recommeded, etc... yet he is a "piece of shit". basically up until this year we have had mostly good teams and have competed for postseason much more often than not since TB came here so how has that not been sustainable success? but every time we lose it's his fault yet al the years we were a payoff team or contender he gets no credit. it's very interesting.
how do you know they lucked out? how many champions has Phil built as a GM type? as of now this is like Bill Parcells taking over the dolphins. dolan slightly worse than Woody? seriously? dolan is a buffoon. since dolan bought the Knicks they have been mostly awful, the Jets got BETTER under Woody.
Better from what? The sterling ownership of Leon Hess? The Jets have had a few nice seasons here and there over the past 15 years...no SB appearances and one division title....but the needle is obviously continuing to trend downwards due to terrible drafting. Terrible drafting directly points at the front office and the scouting dept(ie Bradyway, Terry). Phil has his work cut out from him but no one will deny he's respected throughout the league...that was a good move for the Knicks assuming Dolan doesnt meddle(always possible).
Better than what? The Knicks got to a final under Dolan, didn't they? When was the last superbowl the Jets played in?..oh wait, I know.
Who though? That's the problem with our current owner...he doesnt even know where to look. He hired a recruiting firm for gods sakes lol.
how have we drafted that terribly and continued to win(until this year)? we haven't won a SB, we have had the best QB of this generation carrying NE but we have as many div titles under Woody 2000-2014 even in this harder division than we had previously from 1970-1999. we have had a good run of contending teams, something we have never sustained before.
that team was built before Dolan got there. the Knicks went a decade w/o making the playoffs which is virtually impossible in the NBA. they haven't contended since those 90s teams which were built before Dolan arrived.
I agree Sanchez would had been better here if he had more talent around him just like I think Geno would. Sanchez did throw 2 ints in yesterday game to keep it close.
huh? you have me confused w/ the nitwit fans that we mostly have. I appreciated winning w/ Mark and w/ whoever but the nitwits hated Mark, hated Herm, hated Chad and whined, whined, whined. now the nitwits get what they deserve. I wish they'd go root for another team.
The pick 6 by Foles kept it close. Mark had 1 INT that may or may not have been his fault. He played excellent yesterday.
We have a good coach who is getting screwed every turn he takes but we have a GM that has systematically destroyed the team no matter what many on this site may think....so we probably agree there. And despite all his faults at least Tannenbaum tried to win every year. This guy is trying to lose.
Regardless of the poor personnel and bad drafting...the team is disorganized during the games. Mismanaging timeouts, terrible challenges, poor special teams play. That's coaching. Hell we were taking our sweet ass time down two scores yesterday. It's an undisciplined team and the loss of our top assistants has clearly hurt us.
Yeah Sanchez! But "excellent", Junc? He did well...especially considering he hasn't played in a real game for so long. The next month or so will be interesting in Philly.
Parcells is what 75 years old? This team needs a younger personnel guy who knows the league inside and out. Keep Idzik in a non windowed office filling out spreadsheets and handling the Keurig....but god almighty get a personnel guy here.
