Definitely agree with most of the posters about Williams. He deserved to get reprimanded for head hunting and Bountygate, but he's paid his dues and deserves the chance that he's been given. Williams hasn't had any incidents since then, so it's likely safe to say that he's not doing the same things.

In terms of our personnel, he could be very good for the pieces that we have. The 4-3 would be great for our LBs and Fat Cat, but I think that (if he can stay healthy) Adams and Maye have the most to gain. On paper, both Adams and Maye looks like Jenkins, if not more physically gifted. If Williams can coach them up or scheme to their strengths, the Jets will really get some good years out of Adams and Maye. Maybe even get that no fly zone we were expecting to have.

 

Williams is a great insurance policy just in case..

I'm sure Leo will welcome a much needed change, this move should free him up. Anderson was the other rush DT, but he became a situational pass rusher, I'm curious if he's retained.

Nobody is advocating for this anymore and he isn't the first coach to do this. Buddy Ryan did it and the old Raiders under Madden went out of their way to hurt players. Football is brutal no way around it.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Gase doesn't get involved in the defense that much.
