I know what you mean. For a few of these guys (not all) it actually sounds like they're trying to get revenge for some heinous act.

I'll bite although I'm not what you expect to be said though...

You can't lead a team in the locker room. You can't inspire your team from the bench. You can't affect the outcome of football games by praying really hard.

The reason you haven't seen us in this thread is because it is a whole different level of stupid.

'OMG!.. Tebow totally makes the locker room a better place!' -

hahaa keep calling Revis and Devito stupid, you know more than they do about what is going on in the locker room.

and it was not about inspiration or affect, it was about locker room troubles stabilizing Curly!

Nyuck, nyuck, nycuk...(just poked you in the eyes with my fingers and bonked you on the head with a close fist so you feel at home).

Now go whistle three blind mice.

OMG I just realized that we all know who Moe , larry and Curly are but I could not figure out what to name reverseapachemaster and then it hit me!

He is SHEMP!!!!!!! where is SHEMP!??!!

You are right that your leadership role is greatly diminished if you are mostly on the bench. Tebow can still have some good effect but not as much as if he were playing a lot. Just keep disregarding what Tebow's current teammates are saying about him. For you to completely make fun of the importance of team chemistry and attitude, shows me that you're so filled with hate for TT. And/or you've never played a team sport in your life or worked with a group of people to get a job done. Or you are the guy that tends to be "the problem" and creates chaos on a team or in the workplace.

'We signed Tim Tebow to stabilize our locker room, and he's done a helluva job. ...... No, he won't be starting at quarterback, ever.

Tebow is the only one. In fact he invented it.

The minute you start bringing in players to help you maintain the attitude of your locker room you know that it is time for you HC to go.

Reminder: It is not unusual to send a good player packing because of their destablizing effect on a team's locker room chemistry. Conversely, an exceptionally stablizing personality, that vocalizes the values of watching their team mate's back against an avalanche of criticism, like Tim has, is a good thing. How good it is is relative to how different people may value that dynamic. I value it highly.

What won't change, with minimal exception, is the membership of the Jets football team for this season. The FO is set, including the HC.

It is true that a HC that can't keep their locker room stable won't stay a HC, but it is impossible for a HC to filter all destabilizers out before a locker room is becoming destabilized. A HC's best way to help keep their locker room stable is to have someone in that locker room, as discribed by a fellow team mate (Devito), "when you bring in a guy like Tebow that is going to help a lot"

Edit: It's not unlike the destabilizing effect trolls have on message boards.

For everyone in the locker room that likes tebow there are others he rubs the wrong way. So he may "affect" some positively and yet other negatively.

I played 9 years of football, 1 year of Pop Warner, 4 in HS and 4 in college (big Sky conference 88-92) I have played almost 20 years of rugby at the D1 college level and men's club level (d1 as well) and I have seen the Tebow's come and go.

Here's how I separate the Tebows from the Mannings of the world.

Tebow, yells, screams and gets all excited, which is fine, but he cant back it up on an NFL field, Manning doesnt say shit, gets off the bus and delivers. Tebow I roll my eyes at and do my job the best that I can. Manning, I go to war with and would die for.

Tebow is all sound and fury signifying nothing. I knew guys like him, I like guys like him... but I don't follow guys like him.

One leads by example (the right way) and the other leads like a cheerleader (the wrong way) I would respect Tebow more if he would shut up, and become a better QB.

I know people who had contact with Manning. Both of those guys worked for the Colts and one of those guys still works for them. I used to be a big fan of his till I found out he was a jerk. There are other rumors running around that are far worse. I can't say because I was not there and I'm not supposed to know some of that stuff. So I quit rooting for the guy more than 2 years ago.
Peyton is the greatest regular season qb to ever play the game. But he seemed to come up short often during playoffs when the Colts were the team to beat. I'm biased because I don't care for the guy anymore. I was one of the people that wanted Peyton out of Indy partly due to the stories I've heard about him around here. He's not the worst person on a team but he's very far from humble and unfortunately that affected his actions. Which is actually a frequent thing among pro-athletes. But he is a great player. And he has done far better this year than I thought he would. But I wanted to say, according to my friends who work(ed) for the Colts, I would not say he does things "the right" way.

I couldnt care less what type of human he is off the field. I hated dudes I played football / rugby / baseball with and I like dudes that I played with. I dont care if Peyton Manning clubs baby seals, cheats on his wife or kicks the shit out of homeless people. WIN and WIN a lot. Thats all I care about in a team mate! Be great at what you do and I'm good with you, doesnt mean I want to be your friend or have you hang around my kids. I would rather have Manning as a team mate and Tebow as a friend.

I am my kid's role model.. not manning.. not tebow... not Dan carter (rugby guy) me and me alone. So I dont give a rats patoot about how nice Tebow is or how douchy Manning may be.

That's understandable. It's something I care about when rooting for a player or not. So I can understand that that might not be important to you. And that's okay.

I agree. It is okay. I dont have an issue with you guys loving Tebow. By all accounts he seems like a marvelous guy! He just sucks at helping the JETS win a SB. Which is all I really care about!

How does he suck if he has not had a chance to help? I am not even talking about starting! I am talking about him being used correctly in his current role

There is evidence for both sides of the issue (on predicting Tebow's future success), so I understand the guys that don't think he'll be successful. Like you said in another post. "We'll see" eventually.

because he isnt good enough to earn the time to help us win? You guys and your conspiracy theories... Rex wants to win and if he thought playing Hitler's dead corpse would do that he would... here's what they get that you dont.

TEBOW ISNT ANY GOOD. He cant help us win because he lacks the tools to do so.

Sanchez SUCKS always has. he lived off of mediocre play (at best) and a great defense. now that the defense sucks... oh my.. guess what he sucks.

Yet, despite his obvious suckitude Tebow cant get more than a few handful of plays a game. Hmmm.. Gee I wonder why? The guys thats see him in practice dont trust him more than a shitty Sanchize? give me a break.
