Rex, "the Clown", managed to take "Mangini's players" on defense from 16th to 1st. This defensive roster is MUCH MUCH better. What will Todd do? Like Mike Westhoff said the pressure is on now.

At least all the games we lose this year will be close. I'm expecting a lot of 14-10 losses.

You're more optimistic than I am about our offense, and expecting less out of the D. If Williams is as great as all the posters here are making out, the team ought to thrown a number of shutouts this season and be able to hold teams to 2-3 FGs.

Many of us wanted a WR for several reasons. One, we're sick of all the 1st round picks going to the D. Two, a number of the WRs can also play the slot receiver position and are probably better than Kerley. Three, Marshall or Decker could get injured and we have no depth. Four, it can take WRs a year to develop. If we got one this year, he could learn from Marshall, then if Marshall doesn't play well, he could be released and the young WR would be ready to go. A WR would at least had a chance to start in the slot. There's no way that Williams is going to start over Sheldon or Mo.

I must be mistaken, but don't the Jets have several more rounds to go to get a WR? The 37th pick will grab another starter for sure,
whether it's a WR or on OL, what ever the case - this team will be reckoned with in 2015.

I can't wait to see all the AFC QB's laying on their backs when the Jets face them. It's going to be a fun team to watch.

There are certain players that are above and beyond other players. BPA works in a way where if you rate a couple players on the same level, you take the player that fits your need best. When there's a guy clearly better than the rest, you take him regardless. Who knows what angle they're trying to work in a trade or even if they just are going to make it work (which they can get them all on the field).

No, there's only one round to most people.

The Jets came into yesterday with picks in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. 7th rounders are irrelevant when talking depth chart right now.We have the best CB's and the best DL with a gaping hole at OLB and WR/OL depth problems. Now we have the exact same situation with one less pick. So sure let's take Devin Smith or DGB at 37. Are we going to find a OLB that can come in and play anywhere near someone like Beasley or Harold? No Are we going to find a talented lineman as good as Peat or Fisher? No Williams is a great player but it limited how many holes we could fill.

lmao wow do some research, his shoulder isn't a problem. Gurley fucking tore his ACL and was drafted 10th - man these teams are dumb.

Clearly. So clear that it took us 9:52 out of 10 minutes to decide to make the pick.

Are you serious? I know you were drunk last night but Maccagnan said they were taking trade calls. Might explain the length of the pick.

The best player in the draft was available at number 6, obviously he was taking calls to see if there was an enticing enough offer. Everyone in the draft discussion forum knew that and Mac acknowledged it yesterday.

we fielded calls for a trade. got no better offers. we took the consensus top prospect.

under that logic shouldn't Beasley have been a quickie pick instead?

You don't know me or what I was last night, dude from the Internet. Obviously nobody wanted him that badly. Donald wasnt a top ten pick and he's a better player.

I saw you posting last night, I 100% know you were drunk.

Your logic is horrendous, even sober.

I can attest to this--no way MS was drunk. I'd have known.
