Agreed. And the WORST pick of all of Idzik picks in 2014 was CB Dexter McDougle as a high 3rd rounder. NFL.com had OG Gabe Jackson rated as the 30th best player in the whole draft and there he was available for the jets in round 3. Instead Idzik takes McDougle who nfl.com had ranked as the 243rd best player (something like that), AND McDougle sat out almost all of his senior year with injury.. And Idzik takes McDougle! The VERY NEXT pick Oakland takes Jackson and he has been a stud. Nice job Idzik. Dumb dip!

From a pop culture point of view anything that can be said in fewer letters generally winds up catching on. Now the 13-14 year old culture I was in would never have used depantsed if the the same meaning could be derived from pantsed. Depantsed also suggests the removal of the pants in question, whereas the act of pantsing somebody never reached that extreme. In fact if you actually took the pants off of somebody I'm fairly sure the meaning of the act would have changed and you'd be more likely to wind up facing criminal charges or other discipline in the aftermath.

It wasn't done intentionally. Chris Johnson admitted that he hadn't gotten around to evaluating Mac prior to FA and the draft. He did so immediately following the draft and realized that it was a mistake to have kept him and immediately made the change. He should have gotten around to it before the offseason even began. I guess his social calendar was full and first things, first, you know? The thing is that if he had fired Mac prior to the offseason, we might not have JD as our GM. At that point in time, at least one, if not two, teams had asked the Eagles for permission to interview JD and were turned down. God only knows what wretched excuse for a GM he would have hired if the Eagles wouldn't have let him speak to Douglas. This may wind up being one of, if not THE biggest stroke of luck in Jets history, where a dumbass action by one of the owners wound up saving and turning the franchise completely around.
