I just watched that about 8 times in row...I guess psychologically I was expecting for the past to change...it didn't...lol
Yeah but Marino's at Pitt was a coke sniffing pot smoking fool, the wonderlic test didn't help to rebut that also. The only reason why the Jets get so much sh&t is because of all the fans we have at the draft . Who else rocks the room like we do on draft day..Many teams have had horrible drafts..I just think we remember them like it were yesterday..
Ok, Im not watching anymore, laughter is turning to tears. The more I watch the more I see.... other team fans were having a good laugh at our expense. Grrrrrrrrr
They showed us right after we drafted Nugent, I guess, since Cincinnati is picking at Round 2, pick 48. We were round 2, pick 47. Let's hope Nugent won't be added to this list. Our draft history has been too painful.
I starter cracking up when they took that linebacker and all the other teams fans were making fun of the jets fan.
I think I'm starting to understand why we were so paranoid about trading up for Robertson. We thought he WAS the next Sapp. :-\ I don't see how you can call Freeman McNeil a bad pick though. He was awfully solid during his career.
Mel Kiper's hair was the scariest thing in that video. And yes, it was painful, but I certainly agree that choosing Freeman McNeil was not a blunder. The other RBs chosen after him in the first two rounds of that draft were Randy McMillan, David Overstreet, James Brooks, Booker Moore, Marion Barber, David Hughes, James Wilder, Joe Delaney, Tony Collins, Jarvis Redwine, and Andra Franklin, and McNeil was far better than any of them. Of course, it just so happens that the Giants picked Lawrence Taylor one pick ahead of him.
If Mel Kiper knew more about the draft than any of the 32 men who are managing the draft for an NFL team, then guess what, hed have their job. My favorite was back when nobody was sure who to take first, Ryan Leaf or Peyton Manning... and after the Colts took Manning, a reporter asked the Colts GM or coach or whoever what they thought of the fact that Mel Kiper said Leaf was the right choice... and he was like, who the hell is Mel Kiper, what the hell does he know. And boy was he right on the money. I know this is off topic, but I gotta get this out. Mel Kipers opinions are consistantly worth no more than the average NFL fan, and theyre frequently worth less than those of an educated NFL fan. I cant make any specific claims regarding this years draft, as I now go out of my way to avoid hearing him speak or to read anything hes written, but in the end, hes never any better at calling picks than anybody else watching the draft.
Ok I am nomally a little towards the dark side but this time I have too say its not as bad as it looked. Every team looks bad if you only show the bad pick that they had. Here are some of the good ones. 2004 Vilma 2001 Moss 2000 Ellis Abraham Pennington Becht 1996 Johnson 1993 Jones 1989 Lageman 1985 Toon 1981 McNeil 1971 Riggins (We messed that up by making him a fullback) 1965 Namath And IloveJets I have agree with Ny2md_fs your avatar leave something to be desired. Cant you just use a rainbow flag or something?
Let me just say that Al Toon is my all-time favorite Jet.But the Jets took him instead of JERRY RICE in that '85 first round.
