If we had any other teams' defense this team would be 2-12 at this point. We would be fucked without them.

I agree that the offense and the special teams hold plenty of the blame. But the defense had a chance to cement their name has an elite defense and could not come up with a stop.

I think he means we're 0-4 in game's we've lost, but i'm not sure why he's keeping that stat...

three missed FGs another PF on the Jets killed that drive -- two on offense killed two drives and one on defense made it a very short field on the final drive for ATL
Mental mistakes on both end this time of year are inexcusable

The true blame goes to special teams and 9 points left on the field

Exacty. The offense did nothing but mornic fans want to blame the Defense that did its jbo again today. Giving up the least points per game in the NFL and still can't win.

    Stupid fans are stupid.

Dude they are not gods, the offense put them in a bad spot, letting up 10 points is hardly something to criticize them for.

Lack of big plays, like fumbles INT's, and sacks you can criticize them for, because against a good offense those are pivotal and they don't happen, Revis could have single handedly put the game away, but our defense is very turnover challenged.

Otherwise, the play hard, make good tackles, and play great coverage, when they can create at least 1-2 turnovers a game they will be at the next level. Anyway, this game was winnable without big turnovers on defense, it was on the solely on the offense .

the last one was trying to make a play and they only had 3 points of turnovers..they were only avg 2.8 ypc so they had to throw...he is young and mistake prone but he did enough to give the jets a win

Three picks is only doing enough to give us a win because we have one of the best defenses in the NFL. We have a middle of the pack red Zone offense and are one of the worst teams in the NFL at protecting the ball. Without our defense we are looking at a Rams type record.

Mark is young and very talented. He is also a huge reason why this team is losing games.

Let's get the facts straight. It is not 0-4 on the defense - it's 2-4. Why do people forget we stopped Patriots AND Bills on their last drives when holding a small lead?

Just ignorance to blame the defense for most of these losses anyway (Miami on MNF probably was on the defense, fair enough) but if you're going to do it, at least get your facts straight.

wow well that should be our strategy for now on, I think scoring more points than the other team will give us a good chance to win

They did all they could! They had no help from Sanchez telegraphing interceptions more than a morse code and the FG unit botching/missing easy FGs.

not even, because they get the crow about coming back from being down 24-9 and forcing OT...for today, we are the lowest of the low...The only thing left to hope for is if the Colts go for it next week and we beat them at their best

Rex himself said elite defenses make that stop. The Jets are a good defense but these kind of end-game drives (first Miami game, Jacksonville game, today) keeps them from being dominant.

Gotta love the OP saying he'd rather give up 600 yards and make a stop...Problem is our offense can't do shit so what good would giving up 600 yards do!? The D played. I put this on the special teams.

This defense is a metaphor for the team this season-- ALMOST good enough to be great, but lacking the ability to make the critical play when it is really needed.

Today, as in the painful losses to MIA, BUF, JAX, there were plays to be made that coulda, woulda, shoulda clinched the game on several different occasions but they simply weren't made. Missed FGs, poor FG snap(s), penalties taking us out of scoring position, dropped potential INT's-- Just the dropped potential INT's alone this season would be enough to make this a 10-4 team at this point. For whatever reason, we've got too many players that cannot make the critical play when offered the opportunity-- and that goes for both sides of the ball, as well as ST's. Up until today, Feely was about the only one immune to that. No more. He has joined the cast of "almost winners".
