regardless what happens in those 2 tough raod games we have a chance in the playoffs. We need to tighten things up on D but we have the pieces in place for a SB run w/o question.
We definitely have the talent but we need concentration and discipline. No more mental mistakes, no more unnecessary penalties, and no more DEFENSIVE COLLAPES please.
Its a complex D and Im assuming the players need some time in the D before they can grasp it fully. Revis knows his shit and Cromartie is just getting use to it. We are getting better though. We had a couple of miscommunications yesterday but we also shut down the Houston O for the most part of it.
We had a ton more collapses last year and we made it w/in 30 mins of the SB. I'm worried about the D but I'm not going to say we cannot make a run b/c they aren't playing well in November.
Some here seem to be operating w/o the knowledge that our offense went 2/5 in the RZ and that Houston is one of the better and most high scoring offenses in the NFL. In the 4th the D gave up some big plays to Dreesen. Greene fumbled & Sanchez was intercepted which was good for 10 points. So yes the D got burned in the 4th, but its hardly as if the Offense did their job in the 4th either. Not to mention the RZE which continues to be sub par by the Jets Offense.
We are not as good a defense as we were last year. Jason Taylor was brought in here to get to the QB and it hasn't worked as we don't get any pressure whatsoever. Our LB's are getting exploited over the middle by TE's as defenses are staying away from the outside with Revis/Cro and attacking us in the middle as our LB's can't cover. Our safetys aren't playing up to snuff, either. In order for us to get to a championship level we are going to have to shore up these deficiencies or pay the price against good teams. We may be able to get away with this against lesser competition but against Pitt,NE,Da Bears etc, we are in big trouble.
I feel you, dude, but I don't think the Jets' schedule is that tough from here on out. Personally, I think we're a much better football team than the Patriots, as it has shown that they are only good when Brady is on his game (and I mean ON HIS GAME) while our team manages to win even when Sanchez struggles. The Bengals this thursday should be a breeze. They lost to the damn Buffalo Bills, now that's sayin something. It should be a great opportunity to boost up these NYJ Stats and minimize the trash-talking that's going on regarding the Jets. Why are people skeptic that we're #1 right now? Our record proves it as well as our ability to pull out victories in any given situation. Jets Jets Jets, Harrison
their defense is awesome but their offense is god awful, especially against a good defense. Just don't give up big plays to hester on punt/kickoff returns and don't turn over the ball. that accounts for 90% of their offense
I wasn't serious about moving Shonn Greene to the practice squad. It was in a moment of frustration and clearly Shonn is an integral part of this team. Out of respect that some have showed me I will remove my sig and start cleaning up my act.
Yeah that really isn't mentioned that the Jets offense handed them 2 possessions in FG territory to start. Momentum swings to Houston. If the Jets lost, we may remember the fumble and INT as the reason why the Jets lost, more than the defense giving it away. Of course that doesn't absolve the defense of their problems, but its why the margin disappeared so quickly. The defense was closing out games in September and October. Now its the offenses turn. Maybe in December the defense takes its turn again.
you're right Jason Taylor has been nothing special. Secondary is solid as usual but as far as pass coverage in the middle, the LBs are lacking even though they have been stopping the run pretty well. Was the Texan Dline really that good or did our Oline just take a snooze?
