    I thought you had to wait until after week 1 to do that?

    Maybe, I thought it was after the season started. However if you are right then the longer the Jets go without announcing a punter the worse tomorrow's sport pages and newspapers will be..think that NY Post clown picture was bad?

    Did the season technically start yet? I thought it had to be after week 1 too because the season doesn't start until you actually play a reg season game. I could be wrong but I thought this was technically still preseason.

    This is really bizarre. Why would you cut your ONLY punter, and not have someone officially in fold.

    Who gives a shit what the media says? It makes no difference.

    Conley also only has played for 1 year, so would he even be eligible for the guaranteed vet salary thing?

    Sounds like he's taken the typical path of young punters - picked up, cut, picked up, cut, rinse - repeat. Seems like an odd move to make at this point in the game.
