Kinda surprised by this. I thought they would cut him after Holmes got back, not before the first game.

Agreed, but you can play 3rd/4th string RBs over TEs and linemen on special teams.

you are only as good as your fucking Offensive line (with the exception of B. Sanders). I'm sure if Chauncey had run with the 1st stringers he would of put up better numbers especially running behind T-Rich, Mangold and Brick

    Jets Cut Clowney

If we're being perfectly honest, no one expected 5 backs to be left on the roster to begin with. This can't be too surprising. I liked Washington's style in the last preseason game, but it wasn't enough to keep him on the roster. The PS is a great place for him.

We've got three wide receivers ready for Baltimore right now.

    Fucking yikes!

I was thinking for a minute that Rex was just posturing during that speech with Laveranues Coles; he wasn't. Coles is coming back because he has to come back. You can't go into an NFL game with two wide receivers, a wildcat quarterback and a white midget as your pass catchers.

We did for most of last season. Clowney was inactive for ~7 games last year

That's a really bold statement, guaranteeing that Chauncey would look better behind the 1st string O-Line.

Turner definitely has talent (6'5 with speed), it was just a matter of him committing himself to things like studying the playbook that held him back in Miami.

Maybe having his former QB in Sanchez here will light a fire under his ass to get working.

Is it just me, or does anyone else get the impression that these USC guys have no work ethic. Obviously Sanchez is an exception, but McKnight and Turner seem to be having the same problems.

You gotta clarify that statement, because USC continues to produce insanely talented players in the NFL.

Clowney was inactive for three games last year. We had Wallace Wright last year, too.

Patrick Turner is in no way, shape or form ready to catch passes for us.

I love me some ground and pound, but our gameplan for the Ravens needs to reflect their weaknesses, to some degree. Their key weakness is at cornerback. We need to put a few spread sets on the field to challenge their depth at that position, and right now a five receiver set looks like Cotch, Braylon, Keller, Smith and Woodhead.

Who gets on the field if one of those guys gets dinged up? Patrick Tuner? Hell no. It's gotta be Laveranues.

Yeah, I think when a team is constantly competing for the MNC each year, a lot of players will be overdrafted. Not all of them are busts of course, but there is a high amount of players that don't seem to cut it in the NFL. Matt Leinert, Dewayne Jarret, Lendale White, etc all have been huge disappointments. You also have a bunch of guys who have been suspended for steroids and what not.

Well that means that Clowney played 13 games for us last season and averaged about 10 yards a game. We will be fine without him for the first 4 weeks. There is also the possibility that Coles will be back
