I'd have no problem giving Cro a shot. If Milliner doesn't step up whose playing the outside for us across from Revis? Marcus Williams? That's putting a lot of faith in an UDFA. Skrine is more suited in the slot.
This loyalty that TB has with his players is starting to irk me, it's too much like Bill Parcells. I still cringe thinking of Keith Byars fumbling the ball and giving life to the Denver Broncos in the championship game. (PTSD) Cro single handedly won the game for the raiders last year, amongst the other plays he was non existent in through out the year with his lack of physical play. What is the difference between Cro getting burned and a young player getting burned while he's learning the system? Time to move on from Cro, Revis is plenty capable of teaching the young guys how to play the position.
I would not want Cro taking snaps from Williams, Milliner, or our rookie. Why would anyone open up this can of worms again? Some people are so impulsive that that can't resist posting anything that pops into their head.
2 seasons ago, Cro was awesome for Arizona, just last year, he was awful. Whether it was injuries or loss of speed/athleticism, he was just bad. I would still take him but not guarantee him a roster spot, he will have to earn his stay through training camp and preseason. Revis Skrine Milliner Marcus Williams Cromartie or McDougle(Whoever wants it, gets it) Burris 6 CBs
Because all 3 of those guys you mentioned are untested. If the CS really believed in Marcus Williams I don't think we'd hear Cro's name mentioned at all. Milliner can't stay healthy and Burris is a 4th round rookie like you said. Cro or not, the Jets should be looking for some veteran insurance on the outside.
I'm not in love with Cro and to be fair Bowles only said they wouldn't rule it out when asked, which could mean absolutely nothing, but I want to see Milliner and the rookie actually cover somebody before I decide this defense doesn't need another corner on the outside. I also would like to see Buster Skrine cover someone outside as well, he had a niche role last year, covering the slot and blitzing. But you dont pay a corner nearly $8 million annually to rush the passer. In cleveland he struggled when asked to cover receivers outside. A CB to run with the long striders on the outside is need on this roster, whether you like Cromartie or not
It may be a need, but just running with them doesn't cut it. That CB actually needs to be able to cover them, defend most of the passes thrown his way, and on those he fails to defend, he needs to make a tackle. Cro can't really do any of those latter things any more, and I'm not even sure that he can still run with the long striders.
Well Cro just had kids #11 and #12, he's going to need to sign somewhere. Hopefully Buffalo or Miami.
He had TWO MORE? That is one dumb, irresponsible MF!!! Someone needs to tell him what causes a woman to get pregnant, or he needs to get a vasectomy. He's worse than a stray dog.
Then we could move Justin Miller opposite to the other S position. "Where Miller could finally record his 1st ever NFL Interception". Miller was the king of failing to turn his head while picking up the Pass Interference penalty. All the speed in the world, great return man, but the kid just couldn't turn his hips & refused to turn his head. He was like the Vernon Gholston of the CB position.
