No matter what JD needs a new qb this year. He moved on from Sam when he did not resign Robbie and gave the man no weapons. You can keep Sam as a starter if you have a hotshot prospect behind him, the best value in this draft is for the Jets to draft either Fields or Wilson at 2 . We have plenty of other ways through the draft and f/a to upgrade our talent.

The criticism about the quality of opponents is fair but he also put up insane numbers so it's not like he didn't look dominant against inferior combination. Plus, you have to consider the talent around him isn't as good as Lawrence or Fields, either, so it kind of goes both ways.

Mac Jones is on the other end of the spectrum where he looked great and played some of the best D's in the country, but he also played with multiple 1st round receivers and O-linemen.

I think we ultimately have to trust the judgement of the scouts and JD who are no doubt doing as much research as possible on all these guys. I trust JD, Saleh, Lafleur and anyone else involved in the process to go with whoever they think is the best available option, all things considered.
