And hopefully they do from here on out..all another win or two would give us is an even worse first round pick..the season is over and so is Fitzpatrick's tenure in the NFL.
If Petty didn't overthrow a wide open Anderson we would have beat the Rams 13-9. Bryce Petty played like a Checkdown Charlie. I didn't like it. Playing not to lose. I just hope Gailey comes up with a better game plan than what we saw against the Rams. I want to see more throws 20 or more yds down the field. Bottom line the Jets are not as bad as their 3-7 record. Like Forte said, they've underachieved.
Yes, there were a lot of passes that looked like he checked down but we have no idea what plays were actually called. On very few did it look like he looked downfield first and then threw short, on most it looked like short was his only option.
That interception by Alec Ogletree was a checkdown pass meant for Enunwa. Petty seemed like he played nervous.
take off the green goggles my friend, this roster is worse then a 3-7 team, there old and have ZERO core players to build on and don't even tell me that this team has talent because of three DT's that nobody is scared of. There back to being the laughing stock of the NFL. The Browns haven't even won a game and there evaluating young talent while this awful team is looking at what overpaid player to cut!
Why is Nick Folk still here? I'll say 6-10 or 7-9. This team isn't 3-13 or even 4-12 bad if that happens Bowles job should be on the line now. Colts, SF, Miami, Buffalo are all winnable games. I think they'll play the Pats tough in the second meeting not the frst one I get the feeling we're gonna get smoked in this one.
I am sure the Colts, SF, Miami and Buffalo fans all have the Jets circled on their calendars as not just winnable games but most likely wins.
Yeah, Petty just checked down every play. I'm inclined to think that his HC, OC, and QB coach probably told him, in his first NFL game, going up against the Rams pass rush, to make one read then check it down. I'm pretty sure that was the right call for bringing a project QB into the league at least a half-year earlier than planned. Oh yeah, and it's a game plan that kept us in the game until the end despite that QB and our shitty, beat up O-line. But you should probably be pissed about it. Makes sense.
Not out of the realm of possibility. I must have missed all the other teams beating down Fitz's door this past off season. While some teams might take Fitz as a back up, how many are willing to pay what Fitz wants or is willing to play for.
