I hope all you jet fans rooting for jints are happy. We are even more of a piece of crap to NY then we were before the game. You see, win or lose, we are a piece of crap next to the Pats, now we are the same to giant fans. Remember, our competitors are the Dolphins and Giant fans, not the Pats. We are not even in the same class as them, I hate the Jets more today then ever. Thanks guys for the worst GD season ever topped off by the Giants winning.
I know I am, I couldn't give a shit about people's inferiority complexes when it comes to a team we play every 4 years. Modern Jet fans hate the Pats more than the Dolphins. The last thing Miami did in a rivalry sense was a play in '94, we have a whole bunch of reasons to hate New England now.(Parcells, Belichick, C.Martin, spygate, etc.)
I just laughed to myself, wondering whether you wiped your ass with the page in question after your morning dump...
I don't understand it.. Every Giant fan i know roots for the jets 2nd. Shit, we even share bars down south this inferiority complex is wild. Its not like mets/yankees we aren't even rivals.
The Jet-Giant thing has never eally been a big deal to me like say Mets-Yanks, Islanders-Rangers.... so i'm happy for them, I though it was a great win, I loved seeing Belicheck slink off the field in the sore loser manner, I love the fact they have to deal with coming oh so close to history and BAM, you lose! as far as feeling inferior to the Giants? We should, they've on 3 Super Bowls in my lifetime now, 2 of which I rooted for them hard (against the Bills and Pats), and 2 great games for that matter maybe because I don't have to deal with too many Giant fans that I can feel this way, I know some of you probably have buddies that are giving you shit, so I can sympathize with that too somewhat
I'm in NJ and my friends who are Giants' fans don't get on my case about the Jets, just like I don't get on theirs about the Giants when they lose. We show mutual respect for each others' teams and there are no problems
Being classy is so overrated. I would have preferred if Woody bought a page saying Fuck you Giants, enjoy your time in the sun cause we are going to do whatever it takes to overtake you. Edit-Shit i didnt mean to quote you..
They're having a LOSER PARADE?! That's awesome. Actually, I figured they would. The mayor of Bahhston will be wanting to dump that arrogant, pre-game, prematurely planned "victory" confetti staring them in the face...is it over?
SAME HERE. my bro and all his friends are big huge giants fans. Im the only one in my entire family to be a jets fan..
I have no problem with the Giants. I just prefer the Jets to do better. When forced to choose between the Giants and the Pats or Fish, I choose NYG no problem.
Normally it's a regular season game and it benefits the Jets if the Giants win, so then I can root for them. There was no upside to any outcome for the Jets on Sunday.
I lived in queens for 12 years, i get the hatred with the yankees/mets rangers/islanders. Never really saw jets/giants hatred.
Classy move, but next season starts now and Woody better be spending every cent he has to make us a Champion. The friction between Jets and Giants is not as big as Yanks/Mets and Islanders/Rangers but it's there. If you don't live in NY you couldn't understand. If you do live in NY and still don't understand then your Giant Fan Friends are better than mine, even though most of the Giant Fans I know a fair weather.
Amen to the spending, and totally agree with NY thing. I too think it depends greatly on your NYG fan friends. I happen to have some that have been merciless about the Jets my whole life, hence the hatred of the Giants. To be honest, it was really the most passionless I have ever been watching a super bowl, maybe even any football game. I just couldn't bring myself to actually root for the Giants during the game. I DID however enjoy watching Belidick squirm, quite a bit, and was happy that beantown did not get yet another championship. They were getting a little out of hand. I guess I just feel, if the Giants had to freakin win, at least they beat the pats. However, as champ mentioned, enough with the Giants. The off season is already under way for us, and it is a crucial one, so open the friggin checkbook Woody, and lets get moving.
