So far 3 teams have hired HCs so far this week,Packers,Cards,Bucs.Looks like Bowles found a job already as Bucs DC.
Imagine that... In the meantime, Macc and Chris are plodding along trying to come up with a candidate who in their view, is THE HIRE. Too bad there's nothing in their skillset that says they're qualified or capable of doing this successfully.
I'm a bit torn by this, I think he is the guy that can get the most out of Darnold but I worry about the balance of his offense. If he brings in an OC that will run a balanced offense then get him now, otherwise I'm skeptical. During his tenure with GB they really never emphasized the run nor used the TE effectively. Yes Graham was top 10 in yds and receptions for a TE this year but only 2 TD's and before him they focused on WR's not TE or RB. I just hope the questions were asked in the interview about BALANCE on offense. Sam isn't Rodgers it's not all about the QB.

No one else thinks it’s weird that literally no one else is going after McCarthy? He’s making it seem like it’s his decision for damage control. Supposedly he totally bombed the interview.
Yes. People (like Manish) spinning report saying no other teams wanted him. Other reports stated coming into this process McCarthy was only interested in the Browns or Jets. McCarthy’s camp probably making it known to Jets brass and other teams he’s serious about this job.

I find it interesting that if McCarthy was the guy, he would have been hired by now IMO. That means they like either Monken or a Rhule...just odd that it was put out there that McCarthy wants only this job, and he doesn't have it yet. Maybe some posturing but we will see.
While I would love for us to get Kyle Shanahan to coach this team, Elway isn't letting him interview anyone. Since we can't get him I think we could do a lot worse than to get an experienced winner like McCarthy.
