I hate this critique of McCarthy, as if we've had anyone close to the level of success he's achieved.
I gotta give it to the front office, they are a tight lipped bunch. These guys are making shit up left and right.
We’re not Green Bay. They’re one of the best run organizations in sports and the jets might be the worst. That’s why they’ll get any coach they want and we’ll be left with whoevers left
It would be prudent not to buy into any of the rumors we hear so far. Point of fact not one of them has a real clue as to the ongoing dynamics below A- What is this leadership truly going after? . Very tight lipped B- McCarthy motivations and intentions for 2019?. He only choose two interviews ( NY and Browns) so, if moving to NY was a deal breaker why even bother with the NY interview. You can't coach from afar. This is close to a 24 seven assignment as it gets. C- Is John Harbaugh still an option? Too early to know D- Do we really want to go in a different direction all together but considering the more experienced HCs in parallel? . Loooking for innovative, creating, game changing, young aggressive new blood coach? We are way too eager to think our leadership has already fucked this up. I don't think money is going to be the issue, but rather the motivation of the candidates and the vision the ownership shares with them. I'm hoping for significant due diligence and not over react towards taking someone right away because in some peoples mind he is the hot candidate. Bowles comes to mind, and no disrespect to Arian he could not have been more wrong.
And yet same Green Bay kept McCarthy as a coach for over 10 years when they could hire anybody they want.
#1 NFL practice facility #1 City in the US Young stud QB #3 NFL draft pick 100 M cap space Gave losing Todd Bowles 4 years. Showed more willingness and patience with head coaches than many other teams I don't think we are the worst organization if sports. Maybe one of the worst perceived, but I think that perception is totally false and overblown.
Where are all these "McCarthy doesn't want to live in NJ" rumors coming from? Is this all TGG speculation because y'all think the midwest is some kind of foreign land whose inhabitants would get eaten alive by the slums of Florham Park? Sorry but the midwest, especially the bigger midwestern cities, isn't all that different from anywhere in NJ. There are suburbs, urban areas, ghettos, cornfields and big box stores everywhere... you live where you want to live. Its really not such a big culture shock you think it will be. If you are employed in the NFL, then moving around is expected. It's not like you can just pick and choose any city you want to work in.
He had one of the best offenses in the NFL with Fitz and Winston as QBs ... that’s all I got but it is a hell of an achievement lol
We’re not even the worst sports organization in the NYC metro area, much less in sports. The Knicks and the Mets are far worse. Lions, Dolphins, Cardinals, up until a few months ago the Browns, Bills, Jags, there are some pretty bad organizations out there.
gotta admit that saying we are better than the Knicks and Mets although accurate does not give me a warm fuzzy feeling inside
Mets went to the World Series as recently as what a few years ago. Knicks are perennially awful but they’ve still historically been better than the jets. We haven’t even been back to a super bowl in sixty years let alone won it
It wasn’t meant to make anyone warm and fuzzy. But if somebody is going to bitch and moan, at least be fair. Yeah we’re not a great franchise. But we are FAR from being the worst.
I’m n Cimini “reported” earlier this AM that McCarthy may not want to uproot his family from Wisconsin. Specifically where this came from is unknown and quite frankly sounds like fake news. There were no specific remarks about not wanted to live in NJ. Game of telephone if people were saying he doesn’t want to live in NJ.
We still actually might be as bad as those other 2 ,,,and even saying we are better than the Knicks or Mets is not saying much. The Islanders were probably THE WORST run in New York for over 2 decades but putting the right GM and Coach in place appears to have turned them around BIG TIME. I think its possible for the Jets to change their ways If they find the right GM and coach but these owners don't know how to do that --but I stray.
McCarthy has a 2 day interviews here and doesn't want to move family??? Am I hearing correctly??? Is the Franchise moving to Greenbay ???? This is complete BS Fitz rented a house here as I recall and then had time for family in AZ What is so difficult???
