His record as HC is awful though and so is Tampa's record. If you make a good arguement I'm willing to listen but from what I see he doesn't have it.

Well, folks from the Midwest really don't have a real good opinion of the East Coast anyway. I doubt if there's enough money to get McCarthy to move his family to the NY/NJ area. Imagine if he takes the Cleveland job though. Half this board would have to be put on suicide watch. Evidently Sam Darnold isn't the draw and neither is the Cap space. I wonder what Mrs. McCarthy had to say..
God, you made such a good case for him I actually got a little excited and now you are saying it isn't going to happen or unlikely to happen, mind I have to say I would zero desire to live in London, huge amounts of traffic and the pollution that comes with it, I am a small town boy (well it is actually a City but it is smaller than a lot of towns lol) I can get on a mountain bike and ride from side to the other in around 30 minutes and that is currently fat me lol there is countryside less than 15 minutes from any direction you could possibly take, big cities are just the worst, seeing NY from the sky and thinking how the fuck do you traverse that on a daily basis is actually frightening lol

Well, that's the speculation K'OB. Again, if you've ever been to Green Bay, WI, you'd understand why there's not a lot of incentive to move to NY/NJ. Completely different way of life, completely different kinds of people. If Green Bay is what you and the fam are used to, then the Jets job never really was in the cards. I'm sure McCarthy was flattered and perhaps thought about it, but at the end of the day, to coin a phrase: "If home ain't right, nothing is.." He wasn't gonna move the kids down here to go to school. That told me this one was DOA. Oh well, another newbie, another 4 year rebuild/OJT, another Macc extension. 2025-2030 perhaps. Hopefully by then, the Johnsons would have sold the team or at the very least, hired a competent VP of Football Ops. I'll be long gone by then though as my stop is coming up.

I’ve been to GB several times (Also Milwaukee, Cheboygan.... Love it. McCarthy is from Pittsburgh. That city blood flows through him. Also, I live down the street from Atlantic Health — where he would spend most of his time. There are areas around here that mimic Wisconsin like Chester and Madison.
I'm from Harlem, NY. But I live in Central PA and wouldn't trade it for urban living either. I'm still the city kid that learned his lessons, but I'm not stupid enough to trade what I have now for an 1500sq ft. apt, no parking, crowded subways, high taxes... No thanks.. If quality of life was the deal breaker, I can understand it. I've been to Green Bay several times myself as a FAA contractor. Seems the folks there are nice, polite, good. Town is clean and for the most part, they're fine and probably live a lot longer. Throw in great Walleye Fishing and Cman is good with it! If they want Big City, its a train ride or a drive down I-94 to ChiTown. I even got to see Lambeau Field up close and yeah, itsa shrine to the NFL.
