I'm most excited to see the change of play on the defensive side of the ball. We already know what to expect on the offense with a FQB in his 2nd year. But on Defense we will be seeing a whole new show. William's swarming attack style is the polar opposite of Bowle's conservative, take no unnecessary chances defense. I loved Rex Ryan's 'band of lunatics' that left offenses scratching their helmets trying to guess what's coming next. I think we'll be seeing our 'band of lunatics' make a resurgence under Williams. We're gonna get our swagger back....can't wait!
maybe they should take all that free agent cap money and hire better scouts so they can draft a lot better and do not need to sign other teams over priced rejects...
First, doing better than Bowles & Co. is a really low bar to clear. If they can't do that IMMEDIATELY then they should be fired IMMEDIATELY. Second, just because you assemble a lot of talent doesn't mean it will work together. Take a Ferrari engine, a Mercedes tranny, body by Rolls Royce, and there's no guarantee you make it off the assembly line. And when you consider the egos and reputations of these guys, I'd say it's a good bet they implode before the season's over. And of course, even if they can work together, if they don't have the talent, it won't matter, and the same guy who's been buying he groceries for four years is doing the shopping again. The only reason to be at all optimistic this year is that Darnold will be more experienced, and Bowles & Co. won't be on the sidelines. That alone won't ensure playoff contention, and for me, making the playoffs THIS year, or going down to the wire for them, is a minimum. Anything less is failure.
