I'd like to see us use a balanced approach and exploit what the defense gives us.

You guys know that Mark doesn't call the plays in the hurry-up right?

“(Sanchez) likes to go fast,” Schottenheimer said. “It just kind of puts him at ease, and that’s one of the things that you’ve seen. He gets people moving. He gets very comfortable and confident knowing that, ‘Hey, I’m dictating the tempo of the game, and they’re going to have to adjust to me.’ ”

"In 2008, Schottenheimer began condensing play calls, which can be as long as 10 or 12 syllables, to just two words for the two-minute drill to shave off seconds. He also may send in two play calls at once, allowing the Jets to run two consecutive plays in rapid fire."

Oh wow, no I figured he was calling them because they were coming out pretty quick. Whatever it is, it seems to work.

Sounds like a pretty circular argument to me. Appealing to the coaching staff's perceived preferences seems like a bit of a cop out. Rex should [and seemingly would] employ the strategy that he thinks is going to win the most games.

If he decides that passing the ball early and often is the best way to do it...why would he not? Is the personnel somehow geared to or limited to running?

I don't understand what's happened to Greene. He was very good in the playoffs the past two seasons, part of so many of their winning plays in those games. Then this season comes and it's all of a sudden that he's not looking great in camp, this and that. And watching the game Sunday, LT making a million good plays and Greene doing nothing. Maybe the OL forgot how to run block also.

Yea, I share this frustration. Greene didn't appear to have any juice but LT seemed to still have some left in him. Maybe they'll switch it up a little bit more going forward.

Getting hit as soon as you have the ball might has something to do with it, you knee-jerk homos.

We made the playoffs with a kick a** D, a barely adequate run oriented offense and a surprisingly good 2 minute offense.

We're built to be better than that on Offense now and it is not Ground and Pound. Our offense is now oriented to be balanced with an emphasis on passing.

Our running game always starts out slow, I didn't look too much into it.

i sure as hell hope so.

granted the OL couldnt run block to save their life but Shonn Greene had like what? 10 carries? and i think most of em were in the first half.

and I find it funny everyone wants to give Greene shit for not putting up numbers when getting limited touches and having no blocking.

then everyone wants to make it seem like LT is a more viable option running the ball when his best plays came on catching out in the flats.

either way, Westhoff,McKnight, Scott, Thomas, Leonhard, Keller, Burress won that game.

and yes, as usual Sanchez wakes up when it matters most, but I really take this game lightly, their Secondary was banged up and Sanchez was one of almost a dozen QB's to throw for over 300.

not to mention that was one of the uglier 300+ yard games ive seen from a QB.

the OL better nut up, Sanchez wont be able to run around throwing on his back all year.

something getting swept under the rug by people giving us as little credit as possible for winning.

the cowboys have a playoff team, theyve had one for years. they now have a legit HC, and a DC as capable as Rex. not to mention an actual fucking pass rusher!

I'm just glad everyone downplaying how good the Cowboys will be this year, are the same people who will be crying when Garrett, Rob Ryan, and Co obliterate them.

as far as us getting lucky(we did no doubt about it). nothing rings more true to the perseverance and wont die attitude we displayed than the classic Lombardi quote

"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity"

    /rant

tell the OL to find some pride and run block, keep MJD off the field and break Shonn Greene in for at least 20 attempts

If a team sucks at defending against the run, you run against them all day.
If a team sucks at defending against the pass, you pass against them all day.

It also helps because teams won't be able to key in on one area of the offense to prepare for. This team has the talent to be that dynamic, it's just a matter of if they will be.
