but the defense isn't similar.....that was the main point......who gives a shit about the Titans run game?! You used the Titans game as comparison...it was rebuttled with a fact that our defense is superior, thus cementing the fact that you're comparing apples and oranges.....then you throw out the run game comparison. Get your shit together.
Two teams who were pass only teams got whipped this weekend. Both the Eagles and the Pats both with big time passing O's and top line QB's got spanked.
How about 6-1 in the last 7? Does that work for you. As many have pointed out the Jets have a rookie QB and a rookie HC. Almost no one expected them to bust off a 12 win season, most weren't expecting playoffs but they found the right mix midway through the season. In those 7 games we outscored them 159-61, I think some might consider that beating the shit out of most teams.
WaterBoy - you're late to the party- see my mea culpa to RevisAndHarris..sheesh..read a little! LOL.. As for the rest of you, still on the strength of schedule kick huh? You know what's really funny is Chargers only talking about their offense and Jets only talking about their D. BOTH deserve respect, they both will play well and none of us know the outcome. I believe the tie breaker is simply experience. All this talk about who shuts down who and all that is crap. The teams are about a wash when it comes to their respective strength versus strength. Both have their arguments for why one tips the scales, but I don't see anything convincing..just a lot of hot air.. I do appreciate the dialog though as we all strive to "educate" each other on the highlights of our teams. Which leads me to this: If what you Jets fans say is true and your D is that good and the matchup is solid then the game will be close and barring freaky bounces, Bolts win with experience and HFA.. Could be wrong, that's why they play the game.. Oh, one other thing, for those disrespecting the Bolts and the matchup against your D, what will you say about the Bolts and their "soft" schedule then? Will your team be included in that "soft" schedule? Remember we beat Indy twice and in THIER house. That shut up talk of a soft schedule and that SD didn't deserve to be in the playoffs last year.. As for me, if you beat the Bolts, I think your team is great and has a legit shot at the SB..
There's actually been a lot of good points brought up by Chargers fans, there are always going to be those few that know nothing.
I'll tell your mama to pick you up a dictionary that way you can see the difference between stating simple facts and bragging.
Anybody have an idea of who the commentators for this game are going to be? I'm assuming Nance and Simms are gonna do the Manning game. What's CBS's B team?
I'd be willing to bet anything that it's not a defensive struggle. If NY can't control the ball with their run game then you are screwed. And as I pointed out bringing up Tennessee, the Chargers have been doing a better and better job of stopping the run as the season has progessed.
jets put up 24 on the bengals with a dropped td pass that resulted in a punt and a fg that had 2 penalties push them back so they punted. Bengals have a better D than the chargers and you pass a lot that leaves more time on the clock. Not saying we will but its not impossible especially since your D is 20the against the run.
Sorry for taking so long to respond, but I'm just seeing this now. The answer is, QB play. See, the coaching staff originally had a plan to bring Sanchez along slowly, but then he went and played his ass off to start the season. They increased his role, but at the same time, teams began to get tape on him. They figured out his weaknesses and he started playing like a rookie. The team had to shift its gameplan again and really started to come together late in the season. The problem is, it took a bit longer than we'd like for that to happen. Too much was still being asked of him until about Week 14. Over the last month, we've seen him used perfectly and the team has benefited. The interesting thing is, we've still been close to winning in the majority of our losses, but poor QB play kept placing us on the wrong side.
Right. That's also something that benefits VJax, not hurts him. Teams find it harder to place double coverage on him like you'll find with a team like Houston. IMO, Gates and Floyd are much stronger weapons than Daniels and Walter. That frees up VJax considerably. He's a fantastic receiver, and I may be in the minority here that considers him an elite talent, but the argument that the situation he's in limits his production is absurd.
Better fucking not be. This past weekend CBS and FOX had their top broadcasting teams doing both games. It wouldn't make sense to bore a national audience to death with those 2 idiots.
Yeah but there's two games on both CBS and FOX this weekend. I don't think NFL announcers do back to back days.
They were talking about this on the radio last night. Jim Nantz and Simms will be doing the Jets game, while Gumbel and Dierdorf do the Colts game. Joe Buck and Aikman will be doing the Vikes Cowboys game
Bahahaha...here's the corollary to that SB stat: Since 2002, only ZERO teams that led the league in total offense won the Super Bowl.
