My point is that having watched a lot of Cook over the last 2 years he has consistently looked like a player that is in physical decline, and he isn't worth the money he would be looking for. Smart people understand that running backs who have taken a pounding for years and suffered serious injuries never regain the form they had when they were young and healthy. If he was willing to sign a dirt cheap one year contract where we could cut him without an issue when he failed to perform it would be a different story. There is no evidence that can be provided to show that he is younger and healthier with less mileage on his body. "Dalvin Cook...is not coming in for $4 or $5 million," Pelissero said during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. "That is not going to happen. This is going to be a significant contract." If Pelissero's report is accurate, it's a sign that Cook and his camp believe that he is still a top running back. Cook could be seeking a contract in the neighborhood of the $10 million base salary that he was scheduled to make with the Vikings. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nf...ly-wants-big-money-from-next-team/ar-AA1crNxN It would be absolute malpractice to pay Cook anywhere in the neighborhood of the $10 million a year he is looking for for even one year, let alone for the multi-year deal he will demand.
