To be fair, that "one guy" is a drop from a first ballot hall of famer to the worst guy in the league at the most important position in sports.
Realistically.. It Isn't going to matter, we need someone of some credibility to swing to If Zach Wilson keeps shitting the bed. Which Is highly likely... When we are going to the very bottom of the barrel while we already have the worst QB In the league as our starter. It's not a good look regardless. So, getting worked up about that seems silly to me. IMO
Can I just pose an honest question here? Who besides me thought pursuing Aaron Rodgers in the first place was ill-advised? That's not by any means an I told you so or a chest-thumping posture because I would have loved to have been wrong. Just because I didn't have a viable alernative in my back pocket doesn't mean this was smart. I say this from the comfort of my bed that I'm not paid to be smart, the Jets FO is. As soon as pursuit of The Flake went full throttle I mysteriously found myself singing 'O, Tannenbaum' in the shower. Anyway, how lovely are thy branches. I mean, only the Jets. Terrible planning with no back up plan. Pun intended. Playing defense (heh) on, "SO WHAT IS YOUR SOLUTION, JETO, IF YOU'RE SO SMART?!" I believe I already answered that.
because Woody is an idiot the list of "why would he"s is long with that guy -- also I think it sounds cool that "Woody" and "why would he" can be in the same post!
I predict Trevor will start sooner than later. Frankly... I'm slightly surprised they are playing Zach this Sunday. Zach vs. KC in front of the home crowd and a national audience? It has all the makings of another nationally televised disaster. Oh, the humanity!...
Is it too late for the Chris Streveler wildcat? ...... sure the world knows he cant throw the ball, but at this point what's the difference
The reports that said Ryan called the jets, were false. He wants no part. Could be the same for Wentz, and definitely was for henne. This may be all they could get .
Ryan's agent did call us. But Ryan said it was his agent just doing his job, and he wasn't interested. Apparently we did decline the agents offer though.
I am not at all inclined to suggest Johnson is not an idiot but even conceding that I cannot understand why anyone, even of diminished capacity, at all familiar with the history of Wilson would want him on the field.
Well, there certainly were a few of us who were not jumping on the Rodgers bandwagon, and for multiple reasons. On the other hand a week ago we still had at least one poster bickering with those who would have preferred Derek Carr. I would note that at least a couple of those posters have not appeared here since the game against New England got under way. Oh well.
I've been reflecting on this mess for better part of a couple days now. My verdict. For the good of all involved but mostly for the team as a whole given what is available and realistic. Zach Wilson is pulled immediately. Start Tim Boyle against the Chiefs. Zach isn't beating the Chiefs so its a loss anyway, this prevents the high risk possibility of an even worse performance by Wilson that could damage the entire effort, and it makes it at least appear like your trying. Good for the fanbase and likely the team chemistry. You also might have the slimmest chance of Boyle catching some magic and leading some heroic improbable effort which would be even better for the fanbase and team chemistry. Chances seem extremely low but at least there is a chance. Assuming that doesn't happen though... Trevor Siemian is then fielded as the starting QB starting in Denver and remains so as long as he's capable of holding the job unless and until the Jets get somebody better. Believe it or not I think there is a chance they could still make the playoffs with this formula. This would be the best team Siemian ever operated with and he's been at least somewhat effective in his career. Since its apparently a priority to play the guy that "gives us the best chance to win" words that came right ouf of Saleh's mouth so you know they are true.... he's it.
