There's a difference between a extenuating circumstance and blaming everyone and everything under the sun for one person's failure.
They could sign two good players or one star player or re-sign Robby for that kind of money. Get rid of the overpaid dead weight. Trade him or cut him then try to bring him back on a lesser deal if they want to see how he does in Williams' scheme. You think the Patriots would pay this guy that much if he produced for them the way he has here? PFFT!!!!
7 years ago the Patriots paid an old lazy unproductive Shaun Ellis to a $5 million contract so pretty sure yes. We know you don’t watch the Patriots because of you getting up early and working late to pay your bills because the Patriots don’t pay your bills. But yeah, the Pats did that. You could look it up on PFF.
Yes I do. The Patriots would put him in a position to succeed. They wouldnt misuse him. They can STILL sign enough players and a few stars if they chose, regardless of Leo being on the roster at that price or not. So, that's a moot point too. You think RA Is a 14mill a year player? Interesting.
I don't think they should cut or trade Leo at this point before we can see what he does this year, but it doesn't change the fact that h was NOT worth the #6 pick, and that's troubling because the guy who picked him is still the GM.
Meh, he picked a good player at 6. Picking Williams will not be admitted as evidence that Mac should be fired.
Your kidding right? Lmao Leo has been here for years while SD got thru a brilliant rookie season without a Line and running for his life
Brilliant rookie season? I like Darnold a lot going forward, but from a production standpoint he was one of the worst QBs in the league. Which is my point, you have to look at context.
$14.2 million is equal to $5 million. Got it. Thanks for that lesson of Rollo Tomassi math. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Yeah right they would. Here we go again with the excuses. The poor guy was misused. Blame Bowles. The supporting cast. Did I miss anything? I remember seeing this same exact sob story when Sheldon Richardson was here. Paying him $14.2 million just because they can is the WRONG mindset to have. This guy better have 15-20 sacks in 2019 to justify that cap number. I'm not exactly sure what the going rate for a WR of Robby's caliber is right now. He has greatly overachieved for the Jets from undrafted free agent to productive NFL starter and one of the best deep threats in the game. He deserves a pay raise. I'm not sure if $14.2 million is the going rate but if it's not a good portion of that $14.2 million could go towards extending Robby.
SEVEN years ago for a 34 year old player that was 1 year from retiring. You can’t be that stupid. Or maybe you can be. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Leonard Williams is not worth 14 million. Will his production increase in a 4-3? Most likely. Not surprised to see JStokes on a different username and waterboy banding together here. Birds of a feather and all.
Excuse? You clearly have never watched Leo play in college. You clearly don't understand defensive scheme and responsibilities. You clearly dont understand that many players around the league are misused, they go to another team, the scheme changes, coaches change, all of a sudden, they are high caliber players for their team. Happens every single year. So to pretend like these are just excuses, is foolish and lazy. You're trying to act like it's possible to fit a square peg in a round hole. It's not. What Bowles asked of him, he did well, many have broken down these things already. Go do some research before just looking at sack statistics and acting like he is complete trash because his sack totals dont meet your expectations. AGAIN 3-4 alignment does not rely on the DL for sacks. Their responsibility is entirely different, do some research.
