Two pages in and no link? https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/...liams-jets-gregg-williams-20190205-story.html Edit: This is well said
so his reputation and perception exceeds his value. What do you think we'll get for him then? In a new system that pefectl suits him, it makes far more sense to see if he can strive in GWs system versus trading him and getting low value.
Well whoever Connor Rogers is.. the post above yours... Twitter says he works for the Bleacher Report, he says Williams could bring a 2nd round pick. I would take that and the $14 million in savings, myself. I don't think a 2nd round pick is unreasonable to assume he could bring that
. . ^ this . . Quinnen Williams and Leo Williams in tandem in the interior are potentially unblockable. .
I dont like the idea of creating yet another hole.If we know w certainty that Leo is being properly replaced i trade him. Im wondering if a trade w Tampa might be possible. Williams.Jenkins.Lee.Hell maybe even Trumaine Johnson.I think Bowles would want acouple guys from here who are all still young except for Johnson. Would Bruce be willing to part w Mike Evans? I mean you add him & sign Bell we dont have to worry about skill til at least day 3 of draft.
What a stupid comment. Trade him? If getting Richardson + 2nd is indeed better than keeping Williams, [other teams can figure that shit out too.] With Richardson available as a free agent, will YOU trade for Williams? Remember, you already know Richardson is better than Williams. Moreover, he's on the verge of playing in a system that made him a 1st rounder. You want to trade him away so you can fill his spot with FA? Are you guys out of your fucking mind?
Seriously. If these morons think other teams value Williams basically on his reputation alone, they shouldn't be crowing for [trade!] If anything, these teams have shit ton of data that we laymen just don't get - including analysis reports and game films. If they think Williams has a high potential based on these data, whereas these laymen fans think he's a fat tub of lard, which opinion should you listen to? The fans? [Why don't they ask the plumber to do their heart surgery for crying out loud?]
Do average players make the pro bowl? He's well above average, he just has literally been the only guy on the line worth a damn as of late, so he's the main focus of the opposing blockers.
Agreed. I definitely have no desire to see Richardson back here, either. He's a mental case. Keeping Williams is the best option, unless you KNOW you have a suitable replacement and Richardson is not that.
Average players make the pro bowl all the time. The pro bowl is a joke these days. Most of the real pro-bowlers decline the offer because they are in the Super Bowl or they are injured so they have to dip into the alternates. Which is exactly what happened in Williams' lone pro bowl appearance.
I can see both sides to this argument, let’s remember that Khalil Mack who is as dominant as they come and a million times better than Williams was traded by the Raiders. The question we as fans need to think about with regards to this possibility is this, which is the best long term solution for the Jets? Not just about next year in Greg Williams system.
Leo wasnt a good fit in a 3-4. He also played the yeoman's amount of snaps every week. He was playing at least 80-85% of snaps each game. Meanwhile Anderson's snap count diminished essentially as the year wore on because he became strictly a pass rusher. HA was a fresher guy who of course had motor when he was in a part time role. Leo was out there all the time, playing out of position.
What team will make that trade? I find that trade to be highly unrealistic and also, the Jets would probably have to give up a late round pick.
Gonna need to see how he looks in the new uniforms before rendering an opinion on whether he should stay or go.
If the unis are optically slender-effecting black, they may artificially deflate his fatness so that may not be the best criteria on which to judge.
