the worst thing that can happen is the jets lose 35-21 and they take a moral victory for making it close. This team deserves the ass whipping for the first half and let this serve as a wake up call that playing it close against the colts doesnt get you the right to brag about a 2-2 record. I sensed from the tone of things that most of us felt an accomplishment by hanging tough with indy, well the god damn titans held them to 14 points at home and lost by 1!!!!!!!!! This team deserves this ass whippin

That wa bad but we were w/o Chad and we did somewhat make a game of it in the 2nd half. 21-3 is alot different than 28-0. One score and you are back in it at 21-3 but at 28-0 you need more than 2 TDs.

And if he happens to do bad, we will have people making 5-6 threads on how Kellen Clemens is a bust and what a bad pick by Eric Mangini.

No.... He is inactive for the game, and that would be a retarded move for anyone coach to make. Why would that thought ever cross your mind? Doah!

We need 4 TD's to tie while keeping the Jags scoreless.....

What I'm saying is this. If a team is perceived as being
"short on talent", the benefit of the doubt will always go towards the other team unless its obvious.

Perception here is the key point. From what's been presented on the field, the Jets are the less prepared team and as such, will be perceived as the more likely to make a mistake than the Jags. The Refs, being human, will give the benefit of the doubt to the superior team. This isn's a new concept here..

Yeah, but that game was 14-0 halfway through the 1st. Leinart was 5 of 5 for 84 yards and 2 TDs. Seems like KC got their bearings since that point in the game.

If it was Herm, you'd say it was a masterfully planned game.

I think its more so of the refs favoring the home team if anything....

Same shit with the Barton shot on Brees back in the playoffs two years back.

This game has nothing to do with Herm Edwards. The whole fucking team is playing miserable. thats the bottom line. quit blaming it on Mangini, he didnt throw the 2 INTs....He didnt let jacksonville walk in to the endzone 3 times. People, we are playing like we expected to play all year long.

He can be played in the 4th quater if he is inactive under the rules. Which is why I said it would be nice to see him in the 4th quater. Actually he can play in the thrid quater but then yoiuer 1 and 2 cannot go back in.

Got to second the guy who mentioned Rich Kotite. For any new Jets fans out there, this is your chance to soak in that special hapless era.

Refs don't really favor the home teams in the NFL.

That play in the playoff game was definitely a penalty on Barton.

I'd say the same thing but you guys would say we won in spite of him, I never said that about mangini. When herm was here when we won it was in spite of Herm when we lost it was b/c of him. If we lost this type of game under herm the gameday thread would just be bashing him the entire thread but I don't see any Mangini bashing.

In a perfect world, you'd be right Kurt... Fact is, Some teams get the benefit of the doubt more often than others. The NFL isn't some microcosm of a perfect situation. The Jets never did get the "benefit of the doubt" from the refs even before we started rebuilding.

None of this should surprise you in the least.
