I just lurk here, but it seems like every post you make is about Favre. You realize football is a team sport with many variables right? Or do you honestly believe that a team rises and falls by its QB?
I rarely agree with junc but he might be on to something here. They might be better off with Pennington, not because he's a better QB then Favre, but because if Chad was still here the Jets might not pin every hope of a decent offensive performance on the passing game. Favre has had a couple nice games but Chad would occasionally light up bad defenses as well. As it stands they're basically running the same offense that they did with Chad and I don't think Favre is all that much better at it then he was.
Do I really need to? Jets had a must win game today against a supposedly inferior opponent. After the way they were manhandled last week, you'd think they would have the balls to show up today. This team has shown no consistency outside of the nice 4 game stretch they put together after the KC win and up until the Denver loss.
It's easy to say that now, but there's no way Chad wins at NE and at Tennessee. It just wouldn't happen.
It's was a poor throw on the INT, but at that point you have to make something happen. Time was running out. In the end, a team will not win the game giving up nearly 400 yards on offense and lose the time of possession by nearly double.
Favre did not play well, but it might have helped if the D could get off of the field. Let's face it, the entire team played like crap for a second consecutive week. Don't know what all the back and forth bickering is about. There are serious issues to be worked out and I don't know how they plan on fixing them over the next 3 weeks.
No, i do agree that he has played mediocre all year. And i have no excuses to make for him. I can honestly say that i haven't seen anything spectacular from him. Good yes, spectacular no. The team deserves the credit for beating NE and tennesse. And the team deserves to be criticized for the last two losses. I totally agree with you that he has not played well this year, but you act as if the losses are his fault and any other QB would have won it. Just simply not true.
In case you didn't know we made a pretty big trade for Favre tossing aside a good QB to get him. On this board we have so mant Fvare lovers that praise him for every win and never blame him for anything. There have been threads on wwther we would retire Favre's # if we won the SB:rofl: I am frustrated w/ this team and w/ Favre b/c outside of 3-4 games he has been mediocre to bad all year while we watch a QB we threw out lead a team w/ half the talent to a possible div title.
