i dont want cutler either, we should look into trading our #4 pick to oakland for their #7 and their 2nd rounder. that would be our best option i think, the more picks on day one the better.

but i dotn think we should wait till next year for a QB. whats wrong with brodie croyle this year in round 2?

Cutler wouldn't be able to get it to Davis because he wouldn't have any time to throw the ball without a O-Line and on defense we would never get to the QB because we wouldn't have a fast OLB to pass rush. Doesn't sound to sweet to me.

I hate the trade, unless davis or Huff is there which they wont be the trade, just get Mangold and Carpenter with those picks.

I dont think we should give up any of our picks in the first 3 rounds. We have too many holes to fill and we have a nice amount of picks early. Also, the draft is supposed to be deep at OT and LB, those are 2 areas where we can fill with 2nd or 3rd rounders if we dont address them earlier.

They say that Croyle is injury prone. I dont think we need another injury prone QB.

I don't mean to be an ass, but can you tell me one thing that Clemens does well? He's not mobile at all, he has a weak arm, and he makes a lot of mental mistakes. I fail to see his upside.

As for this deal, all of the discussion about it it moot. Jay Cutler won't fall past the Cardinals at #10.

Well, if Croyle weren't injury prone, he'd be the #2 or #3 QB in this class. Sometimes you have to take a risk to win, and Croyle isn't that big a risk. It would be one thing if the guy was a cancer in the locker room, but Croyle's problem is injuries.

what if cutler falls to the Jets at #29? there's a chance of that, no? if so, we'd throwing away a 2nd rounder for nothing...

No, there's no chance of that, imo.

They said that about Marino, also! I am not putting Croyle in Marino's class, but you never know. We didn't draft Marino for the same reason, so.......

Good, please don't put Croyle in the same sentance as Marino as far as talent goes. Croyle's problems aren't only rooted in injuries (though they likely started from them.) At this point he is unbelievably immobile, doesn't have an accurate arm and isn't an excellent decision maker.

He's not going to go in the 3rd round or below just because he has bad knees.

if we did that trade then we should draft sumone worth that pick which would fill a more important need. That person would be Manny Lawson, he is a freak and would be a great fit for our team(particularly as a 3-4 OLB our a 4-3 speed rushing DE). He would fill our need for a pass rusher(dont forget he was the MVP of NC State note Williams or Mcargo). If after this draft our LB core is eric barton manny lawson jonathan vilma and brad kassel then i think wed have ouselves a damn good group of players.

I think what we ideally want to do is first trade down with the Raiders for #7. If Ferguson is there, we'd take him. If not, we'd take Cutler. Then if we got Ferguson at #7, and Cutler was available at #13, we'd make the deal with Baltimore.

However I throw out this wrinkle. If we trade down to #7 and Ferguson is gone, and in fact Baltimore is targetting Ngata, we take Ngata at #7. Then if Cutler is available at #13, we trade down with Baltimore. If not, we could keep Ngata. Of course everything revolves around us actually being able to first trade down with the Raiders, meaning their QB of choice must be there at #4.

Green Greek that is the essence of my thread on the draft forum. I swapped before picking the players but yours is another possibility.
