It would be trade rape if we did that to the Lions. Mac would get disciplined by the league office. There's probably a 2% trade we trade for Stafford but a 0% chance it involves Brick

Well they need to do something folks. Let me give you all a piece of advice on the Fitzpatrick injury...IF he did tear ligaments in his thumb he's done for the year. I tore my MCL in my thumb straight from the bone and I couldn't touch it, after surgery, for 2 months. They inserted a rod and pins and the rod stuck out of my hand with a rubber stopper on it. Pulled the rod after 8 weeks of immobilization.

IF he tore any of those he's done for the year. Having said that, we have got to find something to replace him with and it isn't Geno Smith.

True. How close are we to the cap? I think we'd have to cut like 10 players to fit Stafford.

If I were the lions, I'd trade Stafford and Johnson by the deadline. It would create $35 million in cap space for next year and guarantee the top pick in the draft as they'd finish 1 and 15. If they got a 1st for stafford and a 2nd for Johnson that would be great.

They could end up 3 picks in the top 32 (pats don't have a pick) and have tons of cap space to sign players.

I'm so glad you reminded me that the Pats have no 1st next year. That removes the chance they'll trade their 2nd to the Lions for CJ.

I think the Lions FO is probably tied up in knots right now. If you're the 90 year old matriarch of the Ford family who currently holds power over the team would you let somebody you're about to fire make a huge deal? 90 is a lot of experience to draw on.

that would THRILL their season ticket holders.

they coudlnt withstand that. maybe one, certainly not both unless they got a hershel walker type offer

I'm a huge Stafford fan but I really feel Petty can be just as good or better but I wouldn't be against trading for Mat if the trade presented itself and it was fare for both involved.

Just recognize that your feeling about Petty is clearly delusional and you'll be ok. If he does anything but outright fail at this point he's beaten the odds.

They are 1 and 7 with both of them, so it's not like they are thrilling anyone right now.

I'd trade away anyone I could if I were them. In the nfl you can bounce back quickly. Tons of cap space and picks would bode well for them.

Geno was not to blame for the loss yesterday. The defense stunk, especially Cromartie. WHAT IS Bowles' fascination with Antonio Cromartie? The jets got rid of him two years ago, he got burned in training camp all the time this year, and he refuses to even TRY to tackle someone in the open field. Move on already!

Yeah, if Petty does well here that's great. But I can't stand the implication we can count on that.

Petty is a project. How do fans not realize this? Let the kid grow and learn. Hopefully we can see the strides he has made in the 2016 preseason and he continues to grow. Not an option right now.

Please get off your soap box... Geno is not a smart QB period. That is not racist that is a fact. You want to espouse your dribble take it else where....

Did you see Marcus Williams play? Last I checked he's next up behind Cro on the depth chart. That's why Bowles continues to play Cro.

If they're willing to make a trade Thad Lewis who is with the Eagles as third stringer could be available. He was on the streets as a FA until about a month ago. Maybe the Eagles would accept a 7th for him. He has starting experience and imo is underrated. He has in his career 5 Tds and 4 picks.

To be fair, Williams was playing strong safety for the first time in his life, bad experiment by Bowles. He's a better corner than Cro.

I would def take a shot with Stafford. He has one of the best arms in the league and is extremely tough.
