Neither We'd need to revamp the entire offense to fit their strengths and we don't have the time or the coaching staff to execute that the right way.
I don't I don't know about that. [I'm going to preface this by saying that I don't think we should trade for any of these QBs today]. Gailey's offense has a lot of spread principles, which favors those guys' experience. Bringing in a QB like Brees or Cutler would be a tougher adjustment IMO. I think the big challenge is taking on the contracts and figuring out who gets cut to make room (Petty to the PS ?).
These are the types of moments that will define macs career as our GM. not spending 50 million, not drafting in the top 6. but situations like these. does he give up assets for a QB to salvage the season when we are 4-3, does he go with a free agent like Flynn? also what he does with contracts moving forward. brick, mo, sheldon... and how he drafts
Bowles said a new QB might be in the training field by Wednesday morning. Looks like we will either sign Flynn or bring in somebody via trade. I hope we stay away from RG3 as this guy is total drama but I wouldn't mind Kapernick. Yes he is broken at the moment but with the right coach he played 2 NFCCG's and a Superbowl.
One small correction...he played in THREE NFC Championship games...you simply do not forget how to play football with that much body of work. Plain and simple. I agree...I think RGIII's wheels are cooked. Sad....
A lot of rumblings about Kapernick out there..."ahead of the draft deadline" derp. The media really wants this deal to go down.
it all depends on the cost of Kaepernik. if all it costs is some combo of geno and/or a conditional late pick i think we have to make that deal.
The cap hit will be too high for any large trade to take place anyway, it's fun to throw scenarios around, but it's not happening. We're going to have Matt Flynn, Ryan Mallet, or some other scrub on the roster. I would take Geno over Mallet and Flynn.
I'd trade a low round pick for Mettenberger. I haven't seen much from him this season but there were flashes last year.
Mettenberger is going nowhere with Mariota's knee the way it is...in fact, I'd be surprised he's not starting, again, this Sunday.
Exactly right. Even if money wasn't an issue, none of the big names are going to arrive and correct their own inherent mistakes while learning a new offense in time to finish 11-5.
It seems highly unlikely a trade happens with under 2 hours left. I would expect a Flynn signing in the morning... yay
the media wanted to crap on the jets, but on this message board, it's very obvious that their fans have beaten them to it.
I wish i could refute you but it is fact. The only thing i can say is we've earned it. Despite people disagreeing with the day to day happenings and the future outlook of this franchise we still ride this rollercoaster together. It's like family, we can in fight all we want but if an outsider steps up they haven't earned it and as a group we should put them back in their place. this goes double for click bait media.
Chris Mortensen on NFL insiders just now: "I wouldn't rule out Colin Kaepernick being moved the the New York Jets today if he's willing to restructure his contract to be just through this year." Sounded more speculatory than reporting tho
Hold on, let me turn on DOUCHEMODE so I can "check your knowledge" OH YEAH?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?! LT: Joe Staley LG: Mike Iupati C: Jonathan Goodwin RG: Alex Doone RT: Anthony Davis You sound RIDICULOUS
