By all accounts he is an excellent DL coach. He was a safety and dare I say has a better grasp on assignments and techniques than most.

It doesn't really matter what position the player played. By that logic Rex should be a shitty coach as he never played pro football.

I never understood people complaining about Carrier like that. Anyway, for what he had to work with, the Jets defensive line didn't under perform. In fact it was mostly the opposite.

Hehe. This should be a fun thread. Also, I don't really care about the Revis implications.

My first thought was - "WHAT THE FUCK?"

My Second thought was - "That's pretty clever. It's always a good idea to be cool with the family members of your best player and most valuable asset."

I'd guess that they worked out Gilbert's work situation with the Jets about 11 months ago.

hahaha, I actually thought about it and realized its a good thing and a brilliant political move.

Uncle Sean is Revis' mentor. Why not make him your friend? Contract talks might be easier, because the FO isn't has a terrible relationship with S&F. I can see Gilbert being a middleman in the negotiations, easing tensions and perhaps getting a deal done sooner when Revis' contract is up.

Tanny's been reading The Art of War.

Now we're giving out bribes to prevent another Revis holdout? Nice.
