At this point, trading Clemens would be the best thing for the Jets and for Clemens as well. Even with Pennington's injury, it seems that the Jets never really gave him a chance to suceed. Hopefully he will do well with a fresh start, preferably outside of our division.
Not a bad observation. McDaniels probably likes him. I don't know though, I don't think that either QB will influence a trade for Denver.
I tend to like his moves. This one makes no sense as it stands, but Im sure he's trying to work something out, possibly trading KC away.
Orton and Simms both might miss time early on so they have the Fresno QB maybe starting or at least backing up..... O Connell makes sense for them.
O'Connell + Gholston + 2nd rounder for Marshall ? Hey since everyone is calling out a trade I made one up!
Not sure if this true but reading the comments on Florio's blog one poster is saying there were 4 teams that put in Waivers on O'Connell, Jets, Browns, Detroit and the Broncos. Detroit got him but that makes speculation even more fun now.
Why the fuck would anyone want Clemens? If they were going to package a QB who's value isn't tarnished it would be Ainge. Clemens has no value.
Yeah, but everyone is calling out a 'realistic' trade. We can not trade Gholston even if someone offered a first. We'll be taking like a $15 mil hit next yr something in that case.
Lets trade Sanchez for Cassell. Then Cassell/O'Connel to Denver for Marshall and Simms. Then let Clemens start, Simms back him up, and Ainge be the 3rd string. See? It all makes sense now!
Nobody knows what is in the works but it's pretty obvious something is. The last thing the Jets needed was a 4th QB. Then again it might be as simple as Clemens having asked for his release. He wouldn't be the type to scream about it in the media.
Enough with the Clemens stuff. The guy doesn't have what it takes to be a starting NFL QB. He handled himself well considering the Jets never gave him a fair shot and ruined his career. But the reason he never got a fair shot goes back into my first point. Clemens has no value. Even the NY media kept saying Sanchez won the job by default because it was a pretty even race. So basically a guy who knew the playbook exceptionally well lost out to a kid who didn't know shit but was talented as he'll. Clemens sucks.
