Her expression reminds me of this old homeless white guy who used to hang around the stairwell of the Forest Hills - 71st Ave station of the F train. I used to have an apartment in FH years ago, and people going to or from work would throw him coins from a distance 1. because he stunk and 2. the implied threat of violence. So it went like this (homeless guy yelling angrily with a drunken, murderous look on his face): "ANY change?! ANY change (shoves can of coins as close to your face as possible from his perch on a milkcrate)?!" Lather, rinse, repeat; but this would immediately alternate with him slouching against the wall, going blank, and staring at you with the same exact vacant stupor of our girl here. There were a lot of crazies on the F train back in the day. I will crack up if anyone remembers The Pencil Guy shilling pencils who used to yell, " I AM A VIETNAM VETERAN! I WILL NOT BOTHER OR ANNOY YOU!" - as he bothered and annoyed you. Anyway, there has to be some uncanny connection between these three unfortunates. I just haven't connected the dots yet.
Also I don’t love catching 2 teams that will be having big rebound years, Chiefs and Lions, both on the road hopefully the chiefs are like week 1 or something so Mahomes is still recovering
Season over by Yom Kippur has been downgraded over the years to over by the Fourth of July, over by the Draft, all the way down to over by St. Paddy's Day, which is where we're at today. The following year it will be over by Valentine's Day, which is a useless holiday, anyway.
Is it too much to ask for a win against one of our rivals next season. Going 0-6 is embarrassing. But then again everything about the Jets is embarrassing.
I am predicting somewhere between 3-5 wins (upper end being 6) - the only way it could get much higher is if they trade for Burrows otherwise there is zero chance of the playoffs for the next 2-3 years minimum
Oh I will be there. Son is now attending Vandy in Nashville and him and I will be at that game. Would love to see you again.
Sounds intriguing. I might do the same actually. As long as the game is before early November, I might go.
Now the season is over I am coming in at under 2 for wins in 2026. In fact, from what I see there the could go "0-fer" again. I'd say Raiders, Cardinals and Titans could be wins but the Titans started to play some good footbal toward the end and Cam Ward improved huge. Cardinals will be on the road and the NFC West teams are just brutal to this franchise. Which leaves the Raiders. With Tom Brady leading the candidate hunt, look for them to lock up the best offensive HC candidate this offseason which immediately makes them better than the Jets. Yup, I smell an "0-fer" coming.
I hope they're all 1 pm games. Raiders, Packers, Vikings and one of the AFC East games are the games I'd like to go to next season. If the NFL is nice they'll schedule Raiders-Jets or Browns-Jets as the season opener so the Jets have a decent chance to get 2026 off on a positive note after the nightmare season we just endured.
