4 picks in the top 38 could mean a few Week 1 starters.

    Current Projected Starters:

    QB: Zach Wilson
    RB: Michael Carter
    TE: CJ Uzomah
WR: Corey Davis, Elijah Moore, Braxton Berrios
    LT: George Fant
    LG: Alijah Vera-Tucker
    C: Conner McGovern
    RG: Laken Tomlinson
    RT: Mekhi Becton

    DE: Carl Lawson, John Franklin-Myers
    DT: Quinnen Williams, Sheldon Rankins
    LB: CJ Mosley, Quincy Williams
CB: DJ Reed, Bryce Hall, Michael Carter II
    S: Lamarcus Joyner, Jordan Whitehead

I’d like to add DE, WR, DT, and S in the top 40, and then TE, RB, IOL, WR in the later rounds.

right now i'm really loving the idea of double dipping on edge in the 1st. KT at 4 and probably jermaine johnson at 10. we can get a DT at 35 like winfrey and a WR at 38 like watson, pierce, pickens, maybe dotson depends how it goes. then grab delcich at 69.

double dipping on EDGE allows JFM to slide inside as well if needed since he can play both edge and DT plus it's extra insurance in case lawson struggles coming off the injury and we like to rotate d-line where none play more then 2/3rds the snaps in any given game so having 6 "starter quality" lineman makes the most sense and realistically we are at 3-4 tops right now depending on lawsons health

Doubling down on Edge is intriguing but I don’t think I can get behind it twice in the top 10. It’s such a deep Edge class that if you really want to double down one of the high 2nd picks is where I’d do it

depends on how you feel the difference is between 10 and 35. jets really like johnson. probably a big upgrade over who we could get at 35. unless the plan is to take jordan davis at 10

I like cameron thomas, mafe i'm not high on. I think both are a step down from johnson though and 2 steps down from KT

My take from the Conklin signing is they really want to run 12 personnel and not be dependent on a rookie TE developing. Last year we ran a lot of 11 personnel because of our roster make-up this year the roster make-up is lining up with ML's preferred 12 personnel. We can still draft a WR and a TE and ease them in this year.

Plus you need 3 viable TE’s if you want to run 12 personnel a lot. You can’t lose 1 TE and have to totally throw 12 personnel out the window.

This Jet roster in week 1 is going to look a lot different from last year week 1. It’s exciting to see it unfold. Potentially 6-7 new starters. I can’t wait for the draft. There are so many ways it could go. Becton is the ultimate wild card and if the draft an OT the writing is on the wall I believe.

Yeah free agency alone added 4 new starters. If you include players who weren’t week 1 starters last year, that means Lawson and Williams too.

Throw in the fact that any of the 4 top 40 players could be starters, and they could have as many as 10 new starters.

Yes, good point on Lawson and I counted Williams as a starter already for obvious reasons. I am not ready to for sure say Lawson is a starter coming off the Achilles but he will definitely be in the rotation. I think Tomlinson, CJ, DJ and Whitehead are all locks to be starters.

After that I think we have 2-3 potential starters in Sherwood, Echols and Conklin (if they run 11 personnel).

Then the draft where the above players might become depth at their position and a highly drafted rookie takes that spot. With all our high picks it’s more likely than not we get a minimum of 3 starters week 1. Like I said earlier I think we will find out on day 1 of the draft what the jets feel about Becton as well. If they take Neal, Ekwonu or Cross in the top 10 I think his days are numbered.

I spent numerous seconds deciding on each one of these picks. PFF, the absolute last word on everything having to do with the NFL, thinks I did pretty good.

I hope that you're joking. IMO outside of Wilson and Parham, that would be a nightmare level awful draft imo.

Sorry if I didn't get it. The initial part definitely seemed like you were joking, but I have seen so many drafts that awful on Twitter that the poster thought were great, that I'm kind of shell shocked. That does seem like a draft that PFF would think is great.

Idk about most of those guys but I like ZaQuandre White. I think he is a good fit here as well and if he is the 5th round selection thats a good pick. He has vision and explosiveness in his game
