Four long weeks until Draft Night!! This is the most fun draft I can remember, I was only 9 and not yet a fan for that 2000 draft. With two Top 10 picks and two more Top 40 picks, plus five more picks from the 3rd-5th… Not needing a QB… Really exciting.
I'm getting more and more anxious because the closer we get to the draft the more I'm starting to solidify which players I have a distinct preference for.
I’m really excited for the Top 10 because I can see a real pathway and reasoning for like 7 different players to be the choices for the Jets. I have favorites but I’m not locking myself in.
Well this should enable them to confirm/disprove all the negative rumors about him at least. I hope they're all untrue, but I'm really tired of the Jets taking a chance on guys who later turn out to be dogs (in the negative sense). At this point I just want them to draft high character, high work ethic, elite players, and forget "shopping for bargains".
To me this draft season hasn't even been half as exciting as last years. I mean, I'm hopeful about getting some talent but the discussion/debates are pretty lifeless compared to last season.
The rumors are certainly true, the question is if you can live with the flaws. Will his brand and ego thrive in the New York market? If he busts, his brand is dead. He has to k ow this and maybe that’s his driving force.
Both, probably because it was perceived as a big QB year, and we had a really valuable pick. Plus there were a lot of skill position blue chips. We probably had a 1000 pages of QB shouting matches alone.
Remember when someone here predicted 2022 to be one of the strongest and deepest QB classes of all time? Ahh. Good times.
In my book, "rumors" aren't fact. If these reports are true then they're not rumors, they're facts. I haven't seen any of that confirmed yet. I'm not trying to defend him, and frankly the rumors alone give me pause. Frankly, IDK if there's an Edge, except maybe Hutchinson, who's without flaws, but Douglas needs to find one.
You’re right, the truth or lack of truth isn’t what defines rumor, it’s the uncertainty of truth. *I suspect the rumors are a true and accurate assessment of KTs personality traits and I wonder if the Jets would be willing to draft him in spite of his flaws. I hear Hutch has short arms.
I was looking at roster numbers today, and there are going to be some really tough cuts this year. IMO at a minimum, NFL rosters should 55, and ideally 60 players. Here are what I think the roster numbers will be by position: Offense - 25 QB - 3 RB - 4 WR - 6 TE - 4 OL - 8 Defense - 25 DL - 9 LB - 5 CB - 6 S - 5 They may opt to keep only 4 safeties, as that would enable them to keep another OL or DL. Supposedly, they like all of their CBs: Hall, Echols, Dunn, MC II and Guidry. They just added Reed, and have to keep Hardee for STs. That's 6 players. I don't see the Jets drafting a CB at all. Any upgrade would be minimal, and they'd wind up having to lose a player that they wanted to keep. As it is, they'll have to try to sneak Dunn onto the PS. I think posters can forget Sauce Gardner, McDuffie and all the other CBs they've been mocking to the Jets.
That is a good list and it is telling how hard it will be to make cuts. I would expect the safetys to be at 4 and the CB group to be 7 (Reed, Hall, Echols, MC2, Guidry, Dunn and Hardee) or cut Dunn dropping it to 6 allowing Pinnock to be the 4th safety but with the ability to corner. Ash Davis will have a hard time making this team.
