I know, I meant that the schedule is finalized between free agency and the draft. Signing a premiere FA QB raises our chances of getting prime time games, but drafting one doesn’t because the schedule is released a week before.
What you're saying is a constant. Same variables each and every year... Injury bug, certain teams become better, some teams fall off the planet, etc, etc, etc. It's up to Mac to do his job. It's up to Blowes to do his job. No one, not you or I, have any control over the schedule. The teams that are truly building a winner overcome a tough schedule. They increase the number of wins the team has each and every year. That's the example of a front office that is doing it's job.
If every team stayed the same, we still only win 5-6 games. I will blame the defense more so than McCown. Too early to speculate with free agency, combine, and draft coming up.
Until the schedule comes out,it's tough to say . What teams will we get early, who may be injured , starting new QBs. Better to play a new QB early before they are familiar with the system. Who will be the Jets starting QB? What FAs sign where. What FAs are lost. New coaches, coordinators, so many unknowns.
