I bet they go 9-7, on the fringe of the playoffs. Not that I think they are that good, I just know the Jets have 8 games against young/unproven QBs. Ryan Tannehill (twice), Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson, Sam Bradford, John Skelton, Blaine Gabbert and Jake Locker. I chose 9-7 because I will predict they win all of those (give or take a surprising loss/win) and a split with Buffalo. 9-7.
This is a very rational place to go at this point. I think they may have trouble with the Titans for reasons other than Locker and I think they will split with both the Dolphins and the Bills because frankly, that's where the rivalry is most years no matter the talent on the teams.

Titans are one game I could see them losing, sure. Just thinking that chances are they steal one of the more difficult games. I don't see them splitting with the Fish this year. But you're right it is a division game, who knows.
One thing to consider is that the Jets (and the rest of the AFC East) got the lucky draw in the NFC West this year... not that anyone WANTS to play San Francisco, but that division as a whole is probably the worst in the NFC. This in theory should help the Jets against other wildcard contenders should it come down to that.
Fair points about opponents and strength of schedule. But I still can't get up to 9-7 due to the too thin bench and how it exposes the Jets to big problems due to injury risk at key positions, and also I think the Tebow factor will cost the Jets. the Jets have also to sweep Miami since Ryan came to the team. I don't get that, but until proven otherwise, two wins against Miami are not in the bag.
i say 4-12...this team is going to be a disaster 1. Sun, Sep 9 vs Buffalo Bills --- L 2. Sun, Sep 16 @ Pittsburgh Steelers --- L 3. Sun, Sep 23 @ Miami Dolphins --- W 4. Realistically I wanted to say 10-6 but I went with 11-5, because I feel this schedule is not too tough. I think if everything works out to its fullest potential 11-5 is possible. LOL at 4-12, what a joke. The lowest I could see us being is 7-9, and that is if the offense completely tanks.

Interested to hear your take on what happens to Rex Ryan if your prediction holds water and becomes true -- losing five of the last six, final four.
I hope you're right...I have low expectations because if they win 9 or 10 games I will be pleasantly surprised, it comes from 47 years of torture...
