not to rain on OUR parrade but we can easily start OHHHHHHHHHH n 4!!!! I think 8-8 is a very good year with this sched and a new coach, and rookie QB--------------IF we do better I will do cartwheels
1. @ Houston - L - Houston doesn't usually start well, but rookie QB and def not jelling yet. 2. NE - W - Rex shows us why he is something to get excited about. 3. Tennessee - W - this team will be beatable this year 4. @ New Orleans - W - This team starts slow... no defense to stop our running game. 5. @ Miami - W - Please.... 6. Buffalo - W - this team will win 4 games this year 7. @ Oakland - W - No let down here, bad team still. 8. Miami - W - Penny will be hurt by this time. 9. Jacksonville - L - Will be a close one, but a loss. 10. @ New England - L - split isn't bad. 11. Carolina - W - Jake Delhomme will be on his back the whole game. 12. @ Buffalo - W - Will not lose to this team this year 13. @ Tampa Bay - W - might be worst team in NFC this year. 14. Atlanta - L - This is a good team. 15. @Indianapolis - L - Peyton will need this game to make playoffs 16. Cincinnati - W - could be a let down game, but they can't stop the run. 11-5 - optimism at this point in the year is what keeps us coming back again and again with the gang green!
@ Houston - W - We'll pull this one out...barely. The D wins this one single handly. 2. NE - L - Close game till the very end. But Tom Brady plays great in the last minutes and rips our hearts out once again. 3. Tennessee - W - D stuffs the run and Kerry Collins is forced into making bad throws. 4. @ New Orleans - L - Brees goes ape shit...as usual. Tough game on the road. 5. @ Miami - W - Rex Ryan's defense has bent Chad over for years. The wildcat will be crushed. 6. Buffalo - W - Lynch's gold teeth weigh him down and TO is shut out by Revis. 7. @ Oakland - L - This team sucked on the West Coast last year. Cant give them a win here. Oakland always plays the Jets tough. 8. Miami - W - Penny gets raped again. 9. Jacksonville - L - Always have problems with this team. 10. @ New England - W - Our D has their act completly together by this time and sticks it to Tom and Co. at home. 11. Carolina - L - Tough team. A grind it out game that we lose by a hair. 12. @ Buffalo - L - Tough game on the road. 13. @ Tampa Bay - W - It's the Bucs... 14. Atlanta - L - Turner is limited but still carries the Falcons on his back. 15. @Indianapolis - L - Peyton goes fucking nuts is a must win. Indy is a tough place to play. 16. Cincinnati - W - Palmer will be hurt. Ochostinko will be pissed off. Coles will be battling a concussion. And they still cant run the ball. 8-8 for the year. Sanchez shows flashes that he will be a great QB and gets much needed experience. The D comes together throughout the year and will be a force in 2010-2011.
TB will beat someone.... I could go with a no upset crystal ball, but it never works out that way, there will always be upsets. SD knows how to beat the Colts, and I think Ryan just might watch those game films and come up with a scheme that works. Hey, if I was perfect, I'd be picking winning lotto numbers. 9 wins seems like a slightly optomistic prediction to me.
Anyone else wanna take a dib at this after the kickoff weekend? I still stand pat to my predictions and if anything, we'll do better.
Alright, here's my best effort. I was in the 8-8 camp before the Texans game, so obviously that's changed a little. 1. @ Houston ---W- OK, I thought we'd lose, but I was wrong. 2. NE ---L- I think we'll be proven vulnerable to the screen plays. 3. Tennessee ---W Brutal game, but I think we'll pull out a low scoring win 4. @ New Orleans ---L Call me nuts, but I think we'll get blown out in this one. 5. @ Miami ---W- Closer than expected, but win. 6. Buffalo ---W- I may change my opinion after MNF, but blowout win 7. @ Oakland ---W- Raiders suck, blowout. 8. Miami ---W- I'm still leery we might lose one of these Dolphins games though. 9. Jacksonville ---L- Got a bad feeling about this one. Played the Colts well on defense. 10. @ New England ---L 11. Carolina ---W Boy, they look like the most overrated team in the NFL. Awful QB situation. 12. @ Buffalo ---W. 13. @ Tampa Bay ---W- Will be tough if Cadillac is still playing well. 14. Atlanta ---W- Here's my upset of the year for the Jets . 15. @Indianapolis ---L Manning will pick us apart with short passes. 16. Cincinnati --- W Bengals suck. On a hunch, I also think we lose one of these games we should win above, just not sure which one.. But I think the Falcons is the game where we pull out an unexpected win. I say 10-6, playoff bubble.
I don't want to get ahead of myself here, but I'm thinking this team isn't going to lose games that they're supposed to win this year. We're going to blast Buffalo in both games. Miami we could easily split and we might possibly win both. We're not going to get blown out by the saints. The only team in the NFC south that concerns me is Atlanta, and I think that's a toss up game. The key will be getting a split with NE. Kerry Collins is going to get lit up, rolled up and smoked, by our blitzes two weeks from now. He will get seriously rattled early on and, yes, it will be a defensive battle, but Pittsburgh doesn't have the same quality of offensive line that we do, so our running game may be a little bit better than they had against the titans. I think the titans game is critical to guaging the success of the 2009 campaign.
I guess I'm so used to the Jet letdown every year, it's hard to be positive. Its hard for me to even predict 10-6. I don't really care what our record is or whether we win the division as long as we can get into the playoffs in some form or fashion. We could be a dangerous team in the playoffs. Get into the playoffs and anyone can win.
After The Dirty One's performance yesterday, i think its safe to say the only way another qb takes a snap for gang green is in the wildcat
That's not what he meant at all. He meant O'Connell will give us an inside peek into the Patriots offensive playbook.
Here's what I would have posted before yesterday. at Houston - loss vs New England - loss vs Tennessee - win at New Orleans - loss at Miami - loss Buffalo - win at Oakland - loss Miami - win Jacksonville - win at New England - loss Carolina - win at Buffalo - win at Tampa - win Atlanta - loss at Indy - loss Cincinnati - win 8-8 Now... 16-0!
I'm going to cheat by posting after game 1. at Houston - W vs New England - L vs Tennessee - W at New Orleans - W at Miami - W Buffalo - L at Oakland - W Miami - W Jacksonville - W at New England - W Carolina - W at Buffalo - W at Tampa - W Atlanta - L at Indy - L Cincinnati - W 11-5 because we'll lose another division game that I can't bring myself to mark a loss. We might lose the west coast trip as well but I doubt it.
1. @ Houston --- W :I predicted 28-17 , But Ill take 24 points all day. 2. NE --- W: Brady is still rusty and we will eek out a 21-17 win. 3. Tennessee ---W: They are not as good as they get credit for. Collins can be handled and I see similar results as last year. 4. @ New Orleans ---L : Bree's has to be contained. We loose by 7 5. @ Miami --- W: Revenge is a fish served cold! 6. Buffalo --- W: We handle our division rival in spite of TO 7. @ Oakland --- W: They never should have won last year. 8. Miami --- W: The Song remains the same. 9. Jacksonville --- W: We are due to beat these guys. 10. @ New England --- L we loose to a Jelled playoff team. 11. Carolina --- W: Delhome is an interception machine (Tries too hard) 12. @ Buffalo --- W: we keep on rolling 13. @ Tampa Bay --- W: still do not have their shit together. 14. Atlanta --- L: The let down game 15. @Indianapolis --- L: Peyton is too much and exposes our secondary. (close game ) 16. Cincinnati ---W: Its the Bengals! 12-4 I know I'm crazy , but who gives a shit. I love my Jets!
I was 4-3 on the 7 wins and 1-5 on the 6 losses. So I was 5-8 on the 13 predictions. Out of the three toss ups I predicted, we lost two in the final seconds and thrashed Texans. Which brings my record to 7-9. Wow, I predicted we would lose to Tampa. Wow. But ... this Jets team went 7-6 in the predictions that I made and went 2-1 in the toss ups making my initial prediction of 9-7 correct. Who cares if I picked the Jets to win the games they didn't? lol. Looking back at the season, we are better than a 9-7 team IMO. Anyone else care to see what they thought of the team before the season started?
I was completely off. I admit it. And I'm happy about it. Now if they'll just kindly keep it up, I'll happily eat a whole can of crow in February.
