No, I could root for them in the superbowl because they were playing the patriots, but they're not parading against the patriots, so I hope the floats crash. Especially whichever one Weatherford is on.
I'll see your 6:45 and raise you 5:42- drunken, loud, obnoxious assholes...Here's to hoping that the "meteor shower that wasn't" this past Sunday does indeed strike in about 30 minutes.
Walked through the parade crowd on my way to work this morning....so jealous. A jet parade would be amazing....maybe some day.
I thought it was a little over the top to give a Jet fan a hard time for rooting for the Giants for whatever reason. Either wanting to see a local team win, not being able to bring themselves to root for New England - I get it. Any Jet fan going to the parade is a straight douche. And you know there will be some of them there watching. Kid I work with was talking about thinking of going (Jet fan). I think I gave him such a hard time about just being a Giant fan all together that he reconsidered.
I stand by my word when I say when and if the Jets ever find it in them to win a SB, it will be much bigger and better than any Giants SB win, ever.
I can't imagine why anyone would go. Me, I remain on full media blackout, just TGG, and SiriusXM Classic Rewind today. Flipped the Knicks on for a second before going to my own game last night and there were the fucking Giants jerking themselves off. This is why I wanted New England to win, this shit wouldn't be in our face all week and likely until next year.
I'm with ya. I haven't put on sports talk radio or sports channel on TV since we went down in week 17. Unless Rex or someone else is on air. But otherwise - no sports media.
Same here, really since the Christmas Eve game. The Eagle game I kind of blew off, the Giant game was irritating and from there it's been all down hill. I don't miss it, really. Not hearing Michael Kay or Francesa all winter has been a good thing, I just wish it was for a better reason.
Considering the Knicks are sucking wind and nobody talks about the Devils, Seton Hall or the Dodgers, it could be a long hiatus for me. Knicks might have found themselves a point guard though, so this could change.
Damn, we are salty today. No way would I go because that's not my team. I wouldn't go to a Mets parade, even if they beat the Red Sox again. This is the lesser of two evils (I live in CT and would have had to deal with asshole Pats fans had they won), but it's not that easy. I'll just pass. I've been trying to avoid hearing/seeing any Giants parade coverage. No disrespect, but it's not my squad and I don't celebrate for teams that I don't root for. Besides, we know there will be the inevitable digs at the Jets from the usual cast of idiots. I'll be so glad when this day is over and we can focus on hoops and hockey. I don't care to think about football until the Draft.
I was there in 08. Was going to school in that area at the time and got caught up in it. People were jumping on buses, smashing taxi, fighting police, etc. Never again. Another thing that I remember clearly. Theres a "bar" named PATRIOTS right on Chambers and people were going crazy near it too.
I actually root for the Giants when the Jets aren't playing but no way do I feel I should be at that parade. I bleed Green!!
I can see why some people go. They are both local teams who aren't division rivals. Some people just support NY no matter what. It's like how when the Jets signed Plaxico, and a large portion of the Giants fans interviewed said they were just happy that he's back in NY. With that said I wouldn't get caught dead at that parade. This superbowl was definitely more about the Pats losing than the Giants winning.
