He not Better than R moss, J porter or R curry who might be Raiders second best WR they have. Raiders have just been very careful with Curry coming back from achiles injury. J morant probably has a way higher ceiling than a D gabriel. IF Raiders had an idea of keeping gabriel(FA after this eason) they wouldn't have basically gave him away.
The Broncos had three scoring drives in the first half in that game and did not have to do much in the second half in their 13-3 win. (Next) Raiders do not have the firepower. Not when Andrew Walter is the quarterback. Let's pretend for a moment that Walter develops into the next Johnny Unitas. Well, in a future year they will have firepower. But not this year. You've watched the games. The guy flat out blows right now.
We didn't see Joe when the Raiders were losing all these games, and now they beat two horrible teams and he's here all day! No wait, I'm sorry. It was a prescheduled vacation
I haven't changed my opinion since the posts I made in the Jimmy Smith thread back in the spring. Gabriel is better than Curry. Interesting that the Patriots traded for Gabriel considering their recent commitment to excellence.
Yea same game raiders were were in denver territory a couple times.(deep) In 13-3 game, one score changes everything. So hold your Denver didn't have to do much to win. Yea do you know who is broncos headcoach is . The rat would do anything to run up the score on raiders. No maybe if I say It slowly it will sink in. IN the beginning of the year, Yes A walter was a part of the problem. Its just normal maturation of a first year QB, getting his experience under fire. A walter has been getting better every week. Last week was more oline making too many mental mistakes as they left Steelers Olbs unblocked. (unexcusable) No Qb is going to be able to do anything under those circumstances. Once the Raiders Oline starts to get comfortable you will see what kind of Qb raiders have, and the firepower on offense. A walter not the problem nor is the skill positions. IT FALLS SQUARELY ON OLINE START PLAYING MORE CONSISTANT. Once that happens look for raiders to win alot of games. Their defense is that good right now.
Don't take this the wrong way. Your opinion means jack to the raiders. AL Davis forgot more football than you will ever know. Obviously they don't share your opinion or they don't give away gabriel. Right now with raiders oline struggle , If your a WR your not going to be able to show case your talent. R Curry when healthy(right now is and getting stronger every week) is without a doubt a better reciever than gabriel. They don't call him 7/eleven as in always open. R curry was the raiders fastest Wr gaining seperation from defenders. That was with D gabriel on roster. His hands are way superior to gabriel also.
You're obviously being sarcastic and nobody's saying the Raiders have Butkus, etc. But Joe is absolutely right about the Steelers' yardage stat in that game. Facts: The Raiders were up by two scores with roughly 7 minutes left and went into a prevent defense. Big Ben picked up almost 200 yards passing from that point forward. 49 of his yards came on a Hail Mary on the last play. Their defense is pretty good right now, which I've been saying on this board for weeks, win or lose. And with 9 starters having 4 or less years of experience, they will get better. Bed and Breakfast Boy and the offense is another story. Although I still like Walter. Any young QB would struggle in this offense...
Must been watching all the god Fathers Movies. Please. Like Al Davis did with d jolley and P buchanon. He knows what he doing when he moves someone. Not a knock a gabriel talent(always talked him up when he was a Raider) Just fact raiders weren't going to resign him(contract up this year) and they have better Wrs.
I doubt he remembers what he ate the previous day much less making personnel decisions. he hired art shell nuff said.
Tyler Brayton, Teyo Johnson, Dana Stubblefield, Robert Gallery, Duane Starks, Aaron Brooks- some recent personnel decisions that didn't work out for the Raiders. And who drafted Buchanon in the first round to begin with?
Jury's still out on Gallery. Brayton's not a Pro Bowler but he's a solid starter. What about Morrison, Washington, Asomugha, Huff, Howard, and Schweigert? What about signing Burgess, do you remember a big bidding war for that guy? What about undrafted free agents like Kelly and Carr?
The point of my morning post was this- EVERY team makes bad personnel moves and good personnel moves. We could do this shit for all 32 teams.
