Was in the parking lot yesterday and decided not to wear my Breece Hall jersey. I have already worn my Rodgers jersey and AVT jersey this year. I think I may actually have something to do with their achillies injuries.
That draft was already looking might good, but with JJ now coming along it’s looking like one of the best we have had since Brick and crew
JJ was the one to force those 2 turnovers but sadly gets 0 credit in the stat sheet. this is why I take stats with a grain of salt
It will be interesting to see how these two stack up in a couple of years, but in terms of elite talent, 2022 already surpasses 2006. I think 2022 will stack up against any draft in history regardless of team once it's all done with. 2006 Jets draft (1-4) D’Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, Virginia (1-29) Nick Mangold, C, Ohio State (2-49 Kellen Clemens, QB, Oregon (3-76) Anthony Schlegel, LB, Ohio State (3-97) Eric Smith, S, Michigan State (4-103) Brad Smith, WR, Missouri (4-117) Leon Washington, RB, Florida State (5-150) Jason Pociask, TE, Wisconsin (6-189) Drew Coleman, DB, Texas Christian (7-220) Titus Adams, DE Nebraska VERSUS 2022 Jets draft Round 1, No. 4: Ahmad 'Sauce' Gardner, CB, Cincinnati Round 1, No. 10: Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State Round 1, No. 26: Jermaine Johnson, edge, FSU Round 2, No. 36: Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State Round 3, No. 101: Jeremy Ruckert, TE, Ohio State Round 4, No. 111: Max Mitchell, OT, Louisiana Round 4, No. 117: Micheal Clemons, DE, Texas A&M
Yeah…I mean both drafts were watershed moments for us…drastically improved the talent on the team for sure Hard to compare though…I mean 2022 we had four picks in the top 36…whereas the 2006 we only had 2 picks in the top 36 (in fact in the top 48) so not really comparable in terms of opportunity. Still, the 2006 draft totally set up our OL when combined with the free agency signings of Faneca and Woody…that was poof…instant top 5 OL. We could use some of that magic now honestly. But after the top two picks, there was nothing much more there other than Leon but unfortunately he got hurt and didn’t have the career that he could’ve/should’ve had… But this 2022 draft is crazy good
Jermaine Johnson was the one of the three 1st round picks that I was most worried about not panning out. It's awesome to see him playing well and getting better every week.
that draft class is redicilous. sauce, GW, JJ, breece. add in the possibilities of ruckert and mitchell and clemons plus tony adams was an UDFA who is contributing big and had that huge INT at the end of the game for us

I recall the draft. joe Douglas working the phones...then...a thumbs up. Brich ran into the draft room and hugged JD! I saw more than one pre-draft thingy that had Jermain like the 2nd or 3rd best pass rusher and going in the top 10. When he started to fall, JD got all worked up!
