That's the key. I think Schilens can really help this team, but he has to stay healthy. That I have my doubts about.
I've been waiting for Rex to put his foot in someones ass, I absolutely love it. Rex is progressing as a coach just as the players are at their position.
yes that is true. but i hope he starts doing more of it - his comments on tone not being the OC were right on the money same w/calling out kerley not being ready to perform.
a few things about this... if kerley wasnt working hard in the offseason why didnt rex handle it then? and i worry about rex now trying to hold people accountable. many times we have seen players type coaches try to then change and hold guys accountable and it has been messy most of the time. i think rex needs to hold guys accountable more often i just worry how some of these guys are going to handle it.
If you listen to the entire PC sequence of REX regarding Kerley, you get the sense he is behind the curve with the mental aspect of this offense. Playing slot & not knowing where you're supposed to be on the field is dangerous. Jordan Hill could push him. His film is awfully impressive. He seems to have alittle Wayne Chrebet in him. The issue is health.
Jets WRs coach Sanjay Lal confirmed Sunday that the team's slot receiver position is up for grabs. Jeremy Kerley is the incumbent, but had a poor offseason and opened training camp with a hamstring injury. "We’re going to put the best three on the field, whoever that may be," Lal explained. "If (seventh-round rookie) Jordan White comes back strong, he could be an inside player. ... The guy has some instincts."
I am surprised after showing so much promise last season that Kerley is having these kinds of problems. Well, me still might get it together. I think it is important for him to do so, since Schillens is fragile and Hill has a steep learning curve.
Honestly, ever since I saw this place with Kerley, I thought he had a screw loose (or maybe 10 screws loose).
Asked if the Jets would bring in a veteran to bolster the young receiving corps, Tannenbaum said he would not rule anything out this time of year. He added that he is interested to see seventh-round pick Jordan White, who was activated off the physically unable to perform list yesterday after suffering a fractured bone in his foot this offseason.
