    Why Braylon over Brandon Lloyd?

Heck, sign them both. Especially with Santonio Holmes being a question mark due to last years injury.

    Santonio Holmes.
    Braylon Edwards.
    Jeremy Kerley.
    Brandon Lloyd.
    Stephen Hill.
    Kellen Winslow Jr.

Now that's what you not only call talent for pass catching options, but also deep in depth.

Only Holmes, Kerley and Hill wouldn't have been considered anything other than doubts. But Holmes, Edwards, Kerley, Lloyd, Hill and Winslow Jr.? I'd love to see it happen. Especially if we feature a run game those would be potentially deadly options for the passing game.

But why do that when you have all pros in the making like Clyde Gates and Jordan White?

Maybe we have the next victor cruz on our team! /tannenbaum

Develop young guys for a few seasons then bring in guys that can contribute immediately.

Sanchez needs to gtfo this team and go back up an elite QB like Brady or Rodgers. Then try again at being a starter in 2 or 3 years down the road.

sometimes i feel like people saying that, but don't really think about it. these young guys that don't start, don't start for a reason, they aren't good enough. it's not like because you work and wait on them for 2 years they will become much better. we really don't have a single vet WR on this team right now

You give guys reps here and there in games. I bet there is a receiver in Baltimore that steps up in Boldin's absence. You have to draft guys and develop them obviously not everybody is gonna amount to anything. But if one guys pans out then I call that a victory.

We won't be bad enough to draft Bridgewater. And IMO Geno>>Sanchez.

    Your opinion based on what?

    Winning playoff games?

Beating Manning, and Brady, inthe playoffs ...on the road?

Right now...Smith is a project/prospect. Like Vlad Ducasse.

staring down his first read...and 1/3 of his passes were already going to Tavon Austin.

I like the pick, but...lets get serious.

The Genomaniacs, are begining to make the Tebowmaniacs look like the sons of Solomon.

Hobbes why do you turn every thread into a Sanchez thread? We know you are infatuated by him but not everybody wants to talk about Sanchez 24/7...

hobbes i can't take you seriously when you only use articles and stats to support only your side of the argument. for every shitty draft report on geno smith, im sure i could find one that says he's a top 10 pick

yet another thread being derailed by hobbes.

on topic. wr will probably not be addressed until after preseason game 1. i think the young guys will most of t.c. to show something before idzick starts looking to make a move.than maybe bray or lloyd come in to play

I really hope they sign another receiver sooner rather than later.. This is going to be a new system for whoever they sign (bray or lloyd) and they will need time to learn the system and more importantly get the chemistry going between them and the QB's.

I have looked at my crystal ball and it told me that..

    1) Holmes will be avaliable week 4 and that he will not be close to the player he was

    2) The Jets will be starting JK, Gates, and Obamu (however you spell it) week 1 as Hill will have his knee scoped again.

    3) Sanchez will start and be lambasted again for his lack of production and Geno will Start week 6 and have "growing pains"

*The Jets need to bring in Braylon, TO (yes TO), Sims-Walker, and whatever Vet is out there with real ability. They need to go this rout as they have neglected this position in place of the D-Line.

i don't think that happens now.it would have been nice if sims walker showed something during the last mini camp.but now with camp 38 days away and the players heading off on their own i dont see where they could get a good look at anybody they would think about signing. i think idz has 2-3 vets on a short list that he may call during t.c. and than plan on rolling other teams cuts thru here until he finds some professional wr's.
best case scenario is holmes comes back in preseason game 2 and hill and another wr emerge early in camp.
this team is a passing game away from being a legit contender, lets hope it shakes out soon

i think holmes is playing it up to make it look like a miraculous return when he is ready for t.c. a under promise over deliver deal. as far as t.o. and sims walker. idzick isnt going to bring that distraction to his first season. plus he does not fit the m.o. of this year of having upside.
as far as sims walker. they just had him in for a tryout. after 3daysof practice the fact that they didnt offer him a deal is telling

this is why people say you cant rebuild in ny. the first sign of a bump in the road and people are screaming for stopgap vets that may or may not have anything left in the tank. let some young guys get reps before we banosh them to the bench

I dont buy the "Let young guys get reps" argument. I was always from the school of, earn your reps. Age and precived upside should not be a reason why a guy gets reps over the starter. That said, what about the reps that these guys got last year?

    1) Gates? I think he is a bumb, guy has speed to burn but was running wrong routs in a system he was semi-familiar with and his hands are bad. His poor rout running attributed to several Sanchez Picks

    2) Chaz Schillins- Another guy who had the intagables. Hight, Speed, size...Has a handfull of catches and another handful of drops. Also runs wrong routs.

    3) Hill- Same as above, great size and speed. SHowed flashes early but then had a horrid time getting off the line with Press coverage. Extreemly questionable hands and consistent misshaps with Sanchez.

Make this WR group a list of 8 guys in camp. 5 Vets and 3 guys that have the potential (all 8 must be willing to play SP as well). If the 3 guys earn more reps with their small amount of reps then they continue to climb the depth chart. That is how this works.

If you have 8 shitty WR's at the start of camp the reality is that you will have 4-5 shitty recievers at the start of the season, just like 2011 and 2012
