Like everyone’s favorite QB prospect he is getting judged in comparison to his predecessors at the position so he looks so much better in contrast. When in reality, the objects in the mirror are closer [to each other] than they appear.

I agree that he should get consensus on many things, including on who the new QB should be, and that it's generally a good thing. IMO if a manager has to get consensus on every move/decision he makes, that isn't good management. He's the boss for a reason. IMO his decision regarding Sam should have been made by the end of last season. The new CS wasn't here. He could have just as easily made the decision, and informed the HC candidates that Sam was not going to be the QB of the Jets going forward, or he could have asked their thoughts on the matter, but let them know that he was strongly leaning towards moving on. Asking their views still makes them feel included and part of the process. Consensus doesn't have to be reached on everything.

Overall, we'll just have to agree to disagree on this issue.

It boils to knowing the people he has hired and how to best work together. I would have not wanted him to make a decision on Sam before hiring a head coach and OC.

yeah....I think our views are pretty much on the same page more often than not. I think you’re more down on Darnold and more up on Wilson/Fields maybe than I am, but not too far off. My point was only that either are viable options....and I still stand by that opinion. We could readily have kept Sam, traded the two pick for a boatload, and built the team up a bit differently. If Sam were to suck as bad as so many say, then we’d still have high draft picks next year regardless.

Clearly, JD went with the other option, which I am also good with. I like resetting the QB salary to a rookie deal, and I like teaming the new rookie with this new coaching staff, especially with the system LeFleur is going to implement. I like using the two on a QB and still having a bunch of picks to build around him. I could see taking a CB at 23 as that is a huge need to my eyes, but outside of that, I want to see OL and WR help.

I still do have questions on the QBs, but I like Wilson better than Fields so I hope that’s the choice. Can’t wait to see it all come together... let’s go!

That's fair. I can understand, and I respect your opinion, just disagree in this instance.

Just as a reminder, Joe Douglas did not want the job as Jets GM.

Well trading up for AVT was an absolute dumb ass move when you could of had Tevin Jenkins at 23 and both our 3rd rounders

I still can’t believe he did this

    Why's Jenkins on the board?

    I'm sure there's a reason.

If a flock of backwards flying birds got sucked into a jet engine, would the plane crash backwards?

Not crazy about the 1st rd. Hindsight is 20/20 but we could've traded back and still gotten Fields. Feels like trubisky/Watson situation all over again.
But whatever clearly the FO fell in love with Wilson so they got their guy.
Tucker I know nothing about. Would rather have our picks but Damian Woody made a good point about all the draft picks ain't gonna make it so target your guys. Trusting JD but idk....
