No problem...anytime. To show the craziness in extremes...about 80% of West Virginia gets over a foot of snow on the latest models..with some areas getting over 50 inches of snow. Western PA also...CMAN...central PA not showing much now...but a 50 mile swing north with this storm and that can be you! Doubt it.
I guess i'll keep all the dehumidifiers and air movers by the door and wait for the calls this weekend,
Another pic from the local weather guys, apparently just released by the National Hurricane Center...
Jay Wayne and the rest of you guys crazy stuff ! Keep us posted,,,,,,,what is the forecast for the jet game ? Showers ? And jay if upstate ny has any shot at snow let us know
Thanks to Jay I finished all my shopping Replaced old flashlights, purchased a ton of batteries. Candles just in case. Lots of canned food. Tons of water. I am ready. If anyone can teach me how I can install a generator I will appreciate. I am a very low tech guy. Borderline idiot when it comes to this stuff. I don't want to call an electrician for it because I know I will be ripped off. Any quick advice on generators will be highly appreciated.
Man typeone..i feel like Brian bringing everyone down..lol...and thanks CBG...will be all over this one. Here is the one model that said no...its going out to sea compared to the others that said big storm..and because they saw this picture is the reason you can turn on the news now and see this all over the networks: http://raleighwx.americanwx.com/models/gfs/18zgfs850mbTSLPp06108.gif Incredible
you mean installing it to work right off of your Panel? Get an electrician. Other than that...how can we help.
Wild stuff jay - this could take be thE benchmark for storm of the century. Was outta commission today but gonna model hug tomorrow.
how do you want to install it? you can set it up t run through your dryer plug or a household outlet but you have to be very careful. you can hurt a utility worker if you do it wrong.since you called yourself a borderline idiot it is best to get a proffesional.no offense
And fierce outer band has just hit us here in Palm Beach County...Was in Miami Dade a few hours ago... Good lord, very gusty/rainy out there right now... Looks like we have a tropical storm warning until 630 pm Saturday... Looking at the local coverage down here...The path and fusion with that winter storm and jet stream up north...Yikes...Sounds like Irene where you guys could lose power for a few weeks... Wonder how this will effect the election up there...
No problem J...latest maps show a 942 low hitting central Jersey which puts NY harbor on the northeast side..piles of water entering the harbor...there is no perfect spot for this thing to land but that would be the worst. Also, latest guideance calls for plus 64-75 winds nyc, jersey, eastern pa, eastern md. Thats not gusts..sustained. Gusts near 90 to 100. The good news is that perhaps..perhaps the models have peaked out and start to come back to earth...but I really dont think so...this time.
Thanks man I didn't know this stuff could be so dangerous. I will skip it for this storm and get an electrician once things settle.
I'll be storing up the supplies just in case Jay. Making me think twice now about that 10Kw gas generator wifey and I were discussing about a year ago. Last I saw on TWC has Sandy taking a stroll down Broad st. in Philly. Good thing I still got almost a week vacation time yet to use.
i was wondering why we are getting watches etc and we arent even near the cone,or even a deviation of it. But the problem might not be sandy herself, but a merging storm that will spread the wrath?
