Just scouting some land in Colorado for summers down the road. Can still get 1/2 acre within 1 hour of Denver for $15k. Raw land but the summers don't suck.

Just curious… for those dealing with heat and humidity , what indoor humidity level is your ac system holding, especially 2-7pm.

Definitely. The cold had been getting to me as I get older, but atleast you can pile on more layers. This heat/humidity, is horrible.

I have no idea with mine, no separate humidity control. My unit is a 16 seer, less than a year old and cycles on pretty regularly but not for long.

I'm lucky though in that I'm about dead center in my building, 4th floor of an 8 story building, not much sun hitting until later in the day.

That’s good that it holds and shuts off. It’s probably on the roof?
I have a 16 also. It’s about 6 years old and has decided to be a problem this summer. Started with the capacitor blowing up. Then , not cooling and dehumidifying properly. Replaced the coil yesterday for a small leak. Doing better now. But now a few vents are sweating. Get to spend my afternoon checking vent insulation , and pulling all the registers down and caulking gaps.
It’s holding 55 percent humidity during the day, 49-51 at night which is ok considering what it’s working against. But being in water restoration, that sweating is not good.

Yes, condenser is on the roof. T-mobile antennas up there should attract any lightning strikes so all the ac units should be safe.

With the new ac, water heater, appliances and all LED lights keeps my electric bill under $85 this time of year and around $65 during the cooler months.

Colorado has been a place I've been eyeing for a while. I used to go to Colorado Springs a lot in the 90s and fell in love with the landscape. Lots of wildfires lately, though.

Hadn't even thought about the fires. I'm looking a little bit the other direction up NW of Denver, not that it matters with the fires since they have been all over there.

The landscape is amazing all around up there on top of the great weather. My son was in Florida his first 27 years, spent about a year in NYC and now out right near Denver Tech Center for a little over a year. He's already told me there is no chance he'll ever move back to Florida. Can't blame him either, hopefully I'll be splitting my time between FL and CO sooner rather than later.

Do we have something coming up the east coast early next week? I'm headed offshore for some deep drop Tilefishing.

All I saw was a wave coming off Africa with 40% chance of developing. But possible effects wouldn’t be til 7-10 days.
I do think the tropics are about to awaken though

Definitely bad. And it’s one of the best showers of the year… can see 50-100 per hour if everything is right.

If you feel like getting up around 3:30 am on the 10th, you'll have a couple of hours after the moon sets and before the sun starts making it too light out.
