Definitely - this was 4 or 5 inches of rain in an hour or two totally overwhelming the drainage system. Apparently 8 people died in basement homes/apartments in Queens from the sudden precipitous rise in water level in their homes, ranging from an 86-year-old to a 2-year-old.
Not sure if earthquakes fit in here but we had 5.9 one 15 hours ago epicentre was 2 hours east 10km depth , bloody scary as we arnt earthquake prone. In 1989 iwas in mexico and the world series was about to start in san fran when an earthquake hit the bay area. All hell broke loose at resort. This was pre mobiles internet etc . Fall is blowing in tonight for us. Looks like it could be here to stay this time. This cold front every year, makes me feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. I hate hot and humid weather.

71 degrees for a low last night. Will be 48 tonight when the cold front comes through. Hopefully fall stays this time, and second summer is over.
