Donger,,,,,gonna be a long event it is snowing in many places already. Yesterdays guidance had cut down on the moisture saying that the #'s would be less and that the City South would get more snow than Northern and Western suburbs BUT as is always the case the models began to shift slightly farther North as yesterday went on and this morning the Nam which is really good in this time frame had more moisture. The storm is actually farther North right now then the Models had it yesterday ,,,,,and if I had to give a guesstimate on who gets what 3-6 would be safe but I think this is more a 4-8 for most and if the Nam has the moisture correct then the numbers should get higher especially in New Jersey. Thoughts ,kids ? Now cast time lets see what today brings be safe all
looking at the radar you would think it is snowing by me and north of me by Fjay and friends but no flakes here yet,,,,,lets see what happens
Nams too bullish, 3-6 and closer to 3 for most I think. I don’t think we get the 10:1 to reach the higher numbers. My amateur opinion.
Not by me yet. Woke up to a coating of snow, schools closed but the main event is still 2 hours away judging by radar
"Amateur Opinion ? " = You are a seasoned vet and I heard from sources that you received your 2 year degree in meteorology from JayWayne Community College,,,,,,,,,I myself am still a Novice at best and I did try taking a course at Boces but I quit after 3 weeks. Maybe we should just let that kid from Madison who loves this snow and storm stuff give his thoughts and we all can sit back and read ?
This account must be hacked as this cannot be Brook as he once told me " there is only one thing that I love more than snow and that is Mickey Dee Cashiers "
Coming down in my neck of the woods,,,flakes are large and everything got white real quick ,,,lets see how the rest of this goes
Brook and friends look at the bright side as I said the other day and in more ways than one,,,,it's almost over as all good things eventually come to an end so enjoy it while i last
March can be a funny month though. But for me looking ahead in Fair Lawn, NJ we might 1-3 inches Monday morning but temps go into the mid 40's and it turns to rain. After that the rest of next week is dry with sun and temps in mid to high 40's. Then we hit March. Hopefully this is the last big storm for the year.
Getting a mix here near the coast, I guess that will keep the total down! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Pretty good thump happening now. Radar says an hour or so and it clears. We’ve gotten about an inch so far.
I just went down memory lane and I was reading some really old old old posts on this thread,,,,lots of good stuff. Many of the guys who once posted on here are now gone, others are still around and IMO it's not the same as it once was,,,,,,,,but as I said so many good posts. The Jayster checking in from time to time nowadays sure is a good thing but man this thread and this site misses you Jay ( and the others ) as it never was anywhere near what it was without you brother. That said everything just like winter,,comes to an end and as I have said this will be ending very soon.
77 degrees today... behind those clouds moving in from the west, a small line of gusty winds and showers.... then a 30 degree drop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We’re coming to the end of the blizzard portion of our program. We’re now going to start seeing the Weather Channel focusing on tornadoes in the southeast, so those of you in northern Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, and the Carolinas, take care!
Thought we had one kicking up today, not sure what came of it, the storm went out over the water. Edit... these turned out to be scud clouds.
