Jay, its all good man. Wifey has decided to take the high road and give me a mulligan on winter '11-12. All I can wish for now is a 2nd ice age for winter '12-13 assuming the Mayans are wrong..
Ok...reputation on the line here. The setup for next weekend is the best I have seen all winter long. Two long range models agreeing on a track from the gulf of mexico to just east/south of Long Island. Lets see how this pans out. Usually this would be a nice 50 50 shot but this winter...lets say 30% chance. We will get that bastard running one way or another Cman.
We got a mini cold front coming through! It's high 60s for today and tomorrow it seems... Maybe monday too will be nice but then its back to terrible weather come Tuesday...
As much as I love the snow...the beach baby..the beach. 5 more years of North Jersey and Im beach bound. Since this is Jay and stuff...here is some stuff that belongs in another thread..Rangers 3 power play goals already baby!!
GGEM has a nice L just SE of us..... man, i dont think i can handle another few days over there on AW. its as rollercoaster as it gets. just like here during the season. amazing.
*Raises Hand* I'm a snow hater. This year has been amazing. Almost makes me want to move down south because this is how it is every year.
Keep us posted JAYWAYNE----I love snow days especially during the week ,,,,,but if a snowstorm MUST show up on a weekend so be it! I will now tell my kids of your possible good news!
Welcome to the club... I am el presidente!! I'm sick of New England winters... although this one is not much to speak of. Friday it was beautiful out. Swing and a miss on snow for Saturday. Now its Sunday. Believe it when I see it. Crazy weather pattern this year for sure.
Will do...but its just the same thing every week. Storms show up on the models than they either disappear or shift hundreds of miles. The last two winters, any amateur could go look at the models and give a basic forecast on these storms. Its a terrible year. Yeah Jil, that GGEM model was a good one...the only problem is that the Euro is now showing a storm track WEST of the APPS with a secondary forming off the coast of LI..which is too late. GFS seems to be following the Euro. The time frame has also moved up to Thursday night Friday...but as far as snow? Some things will really need to change. As far as the kids CBG..sorry for the letdown..AGAIN.
ugh----------I just told them----they aint happy neither am I  Glad I found this thread--------keep working at it JAYWAYNE sooner or later it will happen----heck March could be a big cold snowy mess it has happened before ----ps Feb still has 2 plus weeks left
Hey...a couple models went bad..lets see what happens tonite. There are 4 major models. The NAM is an 84 hour out model that came out at 930pm. Im going to check it out now. The GFS comes out at 1030pm Several other models come out around midnight...and the big one..the Euro comes out at 1am. I will at least check the NAM and GFS. Lets see if its back on.
Its a light snow even for Tuesday night/ Wednesday followed up by a RAIN EVENT NOW for thursday and Friday.
AND BACK ON...with the possible Sunday storm...the latest models show a real bomb..and a real close call. The question with this one is suppression. Does it get far enough north. I always talk about trends..and this thing has now trended north the last couple runs. Will that continue? We will have a really good idea in 24 hours..and much better in 48. But I like what I see!
Taking the wife to Charlie Brown's for a great Prime Rib dinner tomorrow nite. Made reservations and the whole nine. Don't need much tomorrow evening, just enough snow to make it romantic..I'll take care of the rest.
That a boy cman!! We have one not too far from our house..love the salad bar!! Have a great time. We had our dinner tonite at this new Asian Bistro place...great food. As far as the storm for Sunday..and I quote from the accuweather forum: Day 4 is over Mobile Al, Day 5 over east/central GA, then Day 6 Euro has a 982mb bomb 100 miles east of Ocean City Md......that is from Plymouth State followed by another poster that says: Wow on the Euro, just wow Now thats still a bit too far east but inching MUCH closer..and needless to say..a BP of 982 is a BOMB of a storm. All models are suggesting the same thing: If we get a huge snow storm this winter...this is our chance. Still a few things in the way...but Sunday could get every interesting around here.
This is gr8 news for snow lovers---I will inform the kids  Now help me out JAYWAYNE what is a 982mb bomb ? is that mila bar or something? does taht # measn anything if it goes up or down ? all info / insight appreciated ps keep the updates coming--thanks
