Hey Colleen...are you married? Have a boyfriend? You are one tough customer to please hon! Are you really bitching about a 3 hour difference in start time? Come on....give us the goods...how difficult are you really?
Not sure why you're complaining. The weather guys here out and out lie about the weather just to keep people happy. All through the droughts we have here, every weather geek had a 7 day forecast that predicted rain on the seventh day, each and every forecast.
No one questions GW. what is questioned is Anthropomorphegenic Golbull Warming. And the leftist attempt to turn co2 into a lefty commodity. Then creating trillions out of thin air. dnt listen to what Gore says.....look at What he does. Invests in carbon trading schemes, while leaving a carbon footprint larger than Ethiopia.
As far as snow is concerned, this is becoming truly a joke for the mid atlantic. Nothing on the models except snow showers..possibly an alberta clipper next week. I can remember a winter years ago like this where it just never snowed. Nothing. Although a very active pattern is coming..the timing sucks. We will have several very cold spells coming up...but the storms come as the cold air retreats. Northern New England is a different story...they will eventually get their snows in the next couple weeks...but for the nyc metro area...I just dont see it.
I don't know what my forecast is, but the wind has been blowing steadily all night, and I mean roaring. Shit blowing around, stuff hitting the window behind my head and I'm trying to get some sleep here. I'ts like a hurricane blowing through outside. Jay, make it calm down out there, I gotta go to work at 5 in the morning.
north and west of the city may wake up to some icing tomorrow morning. Storm system just about to enter the area will start out as a mix of snow, sleet almost everywhere and change over to rain pretty fast close the coast. Inland areas will be locked into cold air some time longer...perhaps around rush hour. All areas change to rain. Next time we might get an inch of snow is around Friday.

Holy shit....glad that aint us. So its snowing in Newtown CT right now. A nice dusting so far. Its actually n ice to look at for a change.
That's just great. Now wifey is gonna be kicking my ass all the way until spring over the snowthower that we evidently didn't need this winter. Man, she is gonna just be brutal with the sarcasm..
That is some serious snow fall going on out there... CRAZY.... they can keep it, too! The wind and the cold has been the worst of things up here. We got some snow yesterday morning, but it was all gone by the time I got home.
Ok cman..just looked at the latest models and all I can tell is ...warm up the snow blower...you will need it come Saturday/Saturday night. Models have been going with a much colder solution and a more juicer precip band. Sections in northern PA are now over 6 inches and that stretches all the way through northern Jersey. Finally...it will snow Saturday and we will shovel. This storm will not make it too far north though. Northern New England will be mostly dry. Cut off seems to be Northern Mass. Latest models even have the event as all snow for NYC. I will try to pull amounts off the latest model readings in a few. EDIT::::: Latest amounts as of 1am models are 4 to 7 for NYC METRO and a strip of 5 to 8 for central CONN. Rain snow line is central Jersey around Trenton and once again...almost all snow for NYC.
also..we will be getting 3 rounds of storms...a non event inch tonitie...then the bigger storm fri/sat..then another one sunday/monday.
So any idea what timeframe we're looking at for Friday into Saturday? Is it going to stop sometime midday Saturday or will all the damage be before we wake up?
start time around 3am Saturday morning...end time about 2 or 3pm Saturday but it wouldnt surprise me if it ended by noon. Latest update got a bit juicer...NYC is borderline winter storm warning. 6" is the criteria and latest models show NYC for that amount. Northern Jersey should all be under a Winter Storm Watch by tomorrow morning. Currently, only Sussex county is under a watch. Interesting storm...not much strength but a lot of moisture and cold air is in place. Somewhere in central Jersey is the cutoff line for rain/sleet/snow. Some spots in PA will get over 10...Conn. will have some areas over 8. When its all said and done..areas that stay all snow will be around 8.
