https://vimeo.com/user89937355/review/291785786/8862e06c6e About an hour later...that big tree next to my neighbors fireplace came down ripping the fireplace off the house. That scene lasted around 7 hours...from 3am until around 10...1030 before it dropped off to winds in the 50s and 60s. The eye never made it over us...it went over the center of Wilmington where they had blue skies for almost 2 hours...no wind and no rain. Because the storm was crawling at 2mph....we stayed about 5 miles outside the eye in that kind of weather for 7 hours....winds at the airport were reported at 110….which is 2 miles from our house. Again...never staying again if a hurricane comes our way...NEVER. Have 2 more great videos that I will upload hopefully tonite.
Jay, I am so glad that you are OK. Thanks for providing the update and I am happy that things didn't turn out ugly for you.
That is an absolutely incredible photo. I'm a bird nerd. I hit your links, but it said vimeo uh oh. Something odd like that. It's probably on my side. I'm unclear if your home got flooded or if you just got pounded on your roof by the gods. EDIT & P.S.: Nevermind. I just saw that stinkyb said you didn't get flooded out.
that's my favorite photo this year. Its the beach near the pender county/onslow county border off 210. Old pier from hurricane Fran. Never saw that many pelicans on it but they must have known something was brewing. I actually have a video of them flying away. Saw a good ole boy wading into the ocean to surf fish and knew they would fly away....and caught it. Will post that next week since VIMEO gives a 500mb limit a week....the one I posted above took up 415. Thanks Jeto….appreciated.
I am glad that you are alive and well,,,,people were concerned about you I'm one of them. BTW your in good company my wife rarely if ever returns my calls or answers my texts either but you have a legit excuse,,,,,,I guess she does also LOL
yeah, that big bend area is gonna get FUCT..... super shallow and the geography corrals all that surge water. Not good
Another one? What the frig. @jaywayne12, how are you making out with clean up/insurance claim(s)? Insurance companies suck. State Farm got busted for shredding original policies in the wake of Katrina, knowing that homeowners would in all likelihood be unable for find their own original copies. State Farm, what a bunch of scumbags. I'm surprised it didn't make a bigger - er, splash - on the news. Be good. Best, -jeto
Thankfully my insurance agent is a personal friend, as I'm one of the least organized people alive (plus half my shit went swimming) Took my 4 months to settle (I disputed alot of their shitty estimates) / collect my flood claims (bank is still holding some until the house is totally finished) I'm sure Jay's deal wont be as bad
surge can be over 10 feet not good,,,,,Stinky where are u located I always forget where all you guys are ?
